It would be nice to have the building outlined in lights then a snow projection shining on the building then ice white blinking light down the shute then at the pool party put tons of white lights and blue lights in the pool part.

I thought it might be nice to have a Christmas thing in the Pompeii HoS House, but I have a feeling that the HoS scare house stays setup in there year round given how it's been unchanged for years up until deadline. It would be a great space for a holiday attraction otherwise.

I don't THINK this is old news, but I just noticed that the new show is going to be called "Gloria!". (In Abbey Stone)

It's not under the "shows" section, yet. However, when you click "Tickets" and then "tours," there's a tour called CT Insider. Under the info section, it says you get "reserved seating for Gloria! in the Abbey Stone Theater"

Also... I understand the point everyone is making that Griffon and DarKastle must be disassembled to maintain, but what is different about Alpengeist or Mach? Do they not take it apart to maintain it? Or should we expect less trains or longer wait time next year for Alp? No sarcasm, just wondering how all this works. And wishing that BG had Disney's budget so they could pull it off, too.

^ Nice find.

I'm guessing that they'll begin cycling the rides they open during Christmas Town. Going one year without completely disassembling a ride is a whole lot better than going two or three years without doing it. Also, welcome to the forums!

Alpengeist has been running pretty well since they changed that chain out. It's probably time for griffon to take a break. Plus Alpengeist just makes way more sense for a winter holiday event.

Thanks! I've been a long-time lurker, just decided to get in on the conversation. I've been going to BGW since I was 5 (RIP BBW, my first coaster ever!!!). But I've never been to CT. Planning a trip this year, and I am SO anxious for all the info I can get! So excited!

And yes, I completely agree that Alpengiest makes the most sense. It's my favorite anyway. I just hope it doesn't affect the ride operation for the rest of the year!

By the way, we are going christmas weekend (23, 24, 26) what are the odds that I'll get to ride Alpengeist? Will it be too cold? PLEASE say it will be running!

Christmastown needs more than new shows with the same songs arranged in a different tempo in the different pavilions. The same songs get old. That is partly why Disney is so successful with their Holiday time. They create original items. If Busch could do the same then I could see myself going and actually being able to enjoy what it has to offer.

Just was told from a BGW employee that there are no plans to open Festa (ignorant move IMO) and that this "additional 3 million lights" thing is bull. He said however that they may be using a million lights for polar pathway which would bring the lights in the park to 3-million total. He said they have big plans for Pompeii and the Polar Pathway attraction and are doing a lot to pompeii this CT...

So, I guess we'll see.

Is Pompeii just getting lights? Like no walk through attraction? Also, why would they lie. If they only expand to Pompeii then people know 3 million lights can't be on Pompeii alone. So its false advertisement? Also unless you asked an entertainment supervisor or the "ideas" group, no one knows any plans for CTown besides what has been released I was told by Scott Gas.

Well...I do think he was putting his personal bias into what he was saying. He said that he doesn't feel its time to open Festa and was told by park managment that they wouldn't be opening Festa this year..so we'll see.

And I'm almost certain that Polar Pathway is going to be a lot more than just lights. He said they have big plans for it and are going to do a lot with pompeii. So I'm excited to see how polar pathway turns out. Should be beautiful!

Has anyone here done the CT VIP tour? It sounds like a ton of fun.

Sweet. Lights. I'll take note of the 5,000,000,000 I pass on the way there. The shows are where this event hurts. I want to know about the shows. I could careless about more bulbs. That's chump.

I hope they make some changes to Miracles. And I'm cautiously excited about the new show in the Abbeystone. I hope they keep the live music element there.

I have to admit, I'm not too thrilled about 5 million lights. I understand that Busch Gardens is a rather large park, but they keep adding more and more lights each season. There's only so much you can do with lights before it becomes rather tacky to look at.

Now, I've only been to Christmas Town once, but from what I remember the shows were lack-luster to me. They didn't hold my attention for very long. Maybe its because I'm not the biggest fan of Christmas, I don't know, but they just didn't have the same appeal as the shows during the regular season or the Howl-o-Scream season.

1. Why go if you don't like Christmas?? Seems kinda silly.

2. It's not like there going to just throw the lights up all over the park. They will be nicely placed knowing the park. At least 1 million of that is going to Polar Pathway, the new attraction. The other two million could very well be for the opening of Festa Italia to go along with San Marco...but no word has been made of this yet.

Why do these "not a fan of scary halloween" go to HoS?

They need to take their focus off of the lights and focus more on the shows. Because last year they were slacking…. badly.

I didn't say I didn't like Christmas, I said I wasn't the biggest fan of it. To be honest, I don't like the commercialism of Christmas and that's shoved in my face from the moment Halloween is over until halfway through January. I'm much more interested in the legends surrounding Christmas, than singing and dancing to the same songs they play every single day on the radio.

I understand that 1 million will be going to Polar Pathway. And exactly, we don't know where those lights will be placed, since there's no word on Festa yet. But if Festa isn't opening, you'll have the 1 million alone with Polar Pathway then 4 million in the surrounding park. I'm sure they'll do a good job of decorating, I don't doubt that, but after a while there had to be some limit as to when there's plenty of lights in the park. [Whether its due to budget reasons or they just come to the conclusion if they add more lights it'll just be gaudy.]

I guess its just a personal thing, that they keep hyping up on the "We have 1 million lights!" Then it was, "We have 3 million lights!" And now it's "We have 5 million lights! And 1 million of them are just on one attraction!" You can do amazing things with lights, yes. It just bothers me, is all. I would much rather them taking their focus on how many lights they have in the park and just let us enjoy the lights. I don't care how many lights they have when they don't mention it. It's when they keep giving you numbers that makes you go "Okay... When are they going to stop adding more?"

Busch Gardens presents "The Griswold Family Spectacle Of Lights."

It is going to end up turning into that if they don't put resources into the entertainment. Even food for that matter was only soso. I enjoy XmasTown to an extent but a very short extent. There are several areas that need work.
