RE: Christmas Town

And Yoshi likes them more than the normal person... :D

I agree, I can see the penguins as the most popular attraction at Christmas Town this year (other than Griffon). It was a great move on Busch's part and I hope that it works out well.

RE: Christmas Town

Yeah, I got an invite from the park for the 27th, but I'll also be out of town, so Swiftman and Yoshi will be going in my place and have agreed to cover the event for the site.

RE: Christmas Town

I might be there with Yoshi and Swift. It all depends on the variables(inside joke). And yes, Distance is one of them.

As for my opinion of Christmas Town, I am skeptical. I am Kinda thinking its lame to make paying pass holders pay more for admission to a park with a few season features and most of the rides closed. The one thing that would be GREAT is if they took DarKastle and made it a warm 70-75 degrees( If they had heating). I don't see that happening as it would not only cost money to heat it but also would do damage to the theme. As far as closing the rides, I say they should have kept at least two coasters and as many other rides as they could run(I would assume that the rides aren't made to run in cold weather but it could be as easy to fix that as adding c.w. lube). Then I would say that they should take the admission fee, add about $10, sell fun cards too, and for pass members, $5 a head(depending on what they had $10 might be reasonable), as well as give a discount for the fun card for the pass members.

As for the coasters:

Alpengeist
Apollo( or griffon but apollo would be better. But yes we all know that they would never open a coaster without griffon open also)

RE: Christmas Town

I agree with you about the pricing, it is a little annoying that pass holders have to pay to get in, but you have to also remember that this is brand new for the park and we have HOS included when the Tampa park doesn't. It's not unheard of for Busch to charge extra for an event, we just haven't been subject to it here in WBurg (until now).

I'm hopeful that this will become an annual event and will eventually grow to include more attractions.

Enjoy, Xmas Town on the 27th if you end up going!

Has anyone heard anything announced about them not selling beer during Christmas Town? I saw someone mention that in a thread on the BG facebook page. Say it ain't so! I think I need to sit down...

Ok, false alarm I think. In re-reading the thread, it appears the reference was to someone else complaining about no more free samples. My heart rate is returning to normal. Sorry for the confusion (I panicked).

Highly doubt that's true. They're offering other alcoholic drinks, so it makes no sense that they wouldn't be selling beer.

What no spiked-eggnog??? Denied!

I just wanted to say spiked egg-nog. Ignore me. :p

Alcoholic Beverages and cold weather; what better way for the park to make money and of course, to keep the masses very toasty and happy.

I'm loving the new hours (3-10)! We considered get an additional 3 day pass and going Xmas week, but in all honesty, we're barely getting into the groove @ 5 hours. Seven hours is perfect (considering we're only navigating a portion of the park).

This rocks. We'll definitely be there Friday plus the M-T-W of Christmas week.

I'm wondering if the water is going to be there for the splash down during Christmas Town. I know it acts as a natural brake along with looking good, but in December, it can get pretty cold.

Possibility. I'd imagine they would be using the water break as it acts like a trim break, almost. I'd assume the splash area will not be open as people could get sick if they get in the water when it's chilly out.

Just listened to the BTT episode on CT it was a good interview. They had someone speak with people from the communications dept and they said that their expecting it to grow like HOS. They said as it grows so will the areas and rides hopefully. So we'll see.

Had plans to go tomorrow, but there's going to be just to much rain for me. I was there closing day of regular season and it was cold and rainy and just overall misserable. I think we'll wait another weekend.

Looks like Italy will be open and themed next year. This also practically confirms a second year for Christmas Town. (See attachment.)

I've already been twice. And I'll be back at least one more time.
