Saw the 4pm showing of CF yesterday and I thoroughly enjoyed it and so did my 8 month old, he was dancing, screaming and grunting(hasn't started talking yet) at the show, he loved it! Hopefully the people around us knew he was happy and not crying or anything. I was a little put off by the new performers, but once you get used to them, they did fantastic! The new/changed American solo part was awesome! By not just having solos, I think it keeps the show moving a little more.....they took something great and made it better. I am interested to see how the dogs will play into the show, right now they are just carrying them on stage(obviously to get them used to it). Excellent show as always.

Great job ENT Dept and SG on the updates!

I saw this show at 6:00 tonight and sat next to one of the trainers. They reserve a seat for him on stage left of the theater (near the dog bed and the 'fire') as well as at the center stage. I only saw him in the center (sat next to him) and he dresses as a member of the show. Finn (the dog) seems to be coming along. There was a time when he came out on stage, ran to his bed and exacted a treat, and then ran off stage while the trainer seemed to be cuing him from the middle. The trainer shook his head ruefully from his position in stage center on the top step with hand outheld so I assume Finn didn't perform as expected. He seemed to perform perfectly at the end, lining up in the center for the final pose. The lead in the show has a new pouch which is like a purse which he wears to his back which I presume may contain dog treats. I didn't see him use any in the show so I may be mistaken.

It's very interesting watching Finn advance in his performance in the show and I look forward to seeing him again. I know they have another dog also (they called the show dog Connor originally.) I'm not good at telling dogs of the same breed apart so I wasn't sure if they were using one dog for some actions and the other for alternative ones within this same show.

I wish I had talked to the trainer more; he seemed very friendly. Last time I saw this show which was last Sunday the dogs were still both alternated within one show and carried about by the performers. They (or perhaps only Finn?) have made great strides within this past week. There are obviously further plans...I don't think the dog bed was used when I saw them. I look forward to seeing their further development.

edited to correct dog's name

I have stated this before, this is my favorite show, and this year is no excepting. The additions and changes are very welcome and also needed to keep this show fresh. The new "step battle" is energetic and really get the crowd going. Connor/Finn bring an awe factor that definitely appeals. I am glad that BG has remained true to the theme. To the cast...Well done and keep it up.

Some pix from Sunday's CF shows. The puppies are responding to simple hand-commands now (most of the time). Also, Celtic Fyre might be back for 2015!

I sure hope it comes back for 2015 it would be a shame to see them train the dogs for only one year of use. Dont know how much if any truth at all to the rumor I heard a few weeks back that Rockin Road to Dublin was being talked about as a replacement for Celtic Fyre but from where I heard it at this time am not putting much faith in it. Long live Celtic Fyre!! But i do miss some of the cast members from last year......

Celtic Fyre's return depends on many things. As of now, 2014 is still the last year. As we get close to the end of summer, we will have a more definite idea of if it will return.

I am sure one of the biggest factors will be how well London Rocks! is received. If London Rocks! does terribly, they may keep Celtic Fyre so that they can rework London Rocks! or they may want to replace Mix It Up before replacing Celtic Fyre. There are many things that can still play a factor so I am not holding my breathe for any information until August or September.

Why would they put a bunch of effort into training 2 dogs to perform the same tasks in the same show, only to cancel it at the end of the season? I'm thinking that for this reason alone, the show has at least 1 more season. This is only my opinion.

That is the life of show biz. Sometimes you get hired to play a part for 6 months and that it. Same goes with animals. It really does depend on how things run this year.

Sooo cute.

I love how the trainers are dressed in actual costumes from the show,(as seen on the right) it really helps keep to the theme of the show.

I'm sure if Celtic Fyre were to be replaced next year, Connor and Finn will probably be trained to interact within that show also, or else I would be very sad, because they really add that "Awwwwee" factor to the show. Well let's hope that Celtic Fyre isn't getting replaced in the first place.
