I absolutely despise Travis Kelce and think his specific involvement in this does jack shit for the company, but I am intrigued by the investment firm’s goals. Laying a solid foundation that can be a springboard to sustainable long term growth is exactly what this company needs and what legacy cedar fair already had. Hopefully it works

Throwing this here because a friend sent it to me. Basically he’s not gonna help the parks that are struggling.

Incase anyone out there wasn’t 100% certain that this dudes intentions were always going to be awful, here ya go

well, theres goes the hopes and dreams of travis kelce being the this decade's dan snyder (because I can easily make fun of it)

@RDL, I am pretty certain you are completely misunderstanding Matt Ouimet's point. Here's the actual post:

Matt Ouimet said:
Yesterday an activist investor announced that they had taken a 9 percent stake in Six Flags, noting that a well-known NFL star (Travis Kelsey) was one of their investors in this deal.

By my count that makes at least three investor groups holding positions in SIX - all who claim to have the answers that will resurrect SIX Flags from its malaise - with the latest one including a six-foot five, two-hundred and fifty pounds tight end as key to their strategy.

I have a number of thoughts on this, but decided to lead with the following:

There may be something in this announcement that fans of the parks can benefit from.

Travis Kelsey cannot afford to be associated with parks that do not deliver the experience he will be promoting. His brand is too valuable to bear the burden of social media that features evidence of declining maintenance and poor operating practices, the result of merger-induced cost cutting. He will need to be able to talk credibly about impressive new attractions and entertainment offerings.

From a marketing standpoint, I would not expect his name to draw any meaningful incremental attendance, but that may not be where he has the biggest impact.

If his role causes the experience across the parks to improve measurably this will be a come from behind victory.

If not, it won’t be so easy for him to shake it off.

Can anyone find a pass portal or anything like that on the new websites...?

It looks to me like they may have launched without one...?

For the record on the new websites from what I have checked now feature a dynamic park map showing where the attraction is. These are akin to what is in the app.

Interesting to see the 2025 WinterFest lineups. Kings Island and Canada's Wonderland don't appear to have obvious cuts to their show lineups and attractions. Carowinds hasn't posted all of their info yet but it looks like ice skating is not being offered.

Where are you seeing the list of rides for KI's Winterfest?

Carrowinds ice skating rink was much smaller than the fountain ice rinks.

There isn't a ride listing yet as far as I can tell. I was referring to the WinterFest-specific attractions and shows appearing to be mostly intact looking at the events and shows pages.

Not sure if this is what you are talking about, but if you click on the "tickets and passes" option, you'll be directed to a page where you can view season pass options.

I believe they were referring to the ability that was present on both the old CF sites and SF sites to log in to your Season Pass/Membership and view/adjust things.

There finally seems to be some credibility to the limited-time offer threat - Great Adventure Gold Passes no longer include access to all parks by default (they are instead "Eligible for All Park Passport"). The passport add-on costs an additional $60. Prestige Passes still include the passport at no additional charge.

Silver Passes that grant admission through Labor Day of 2026 have also become available for $55, the price of a standard one day ticket.

Other parks (I checked SFOG for reference) are still offering free passports with a purchase of their Gold tier passes, at least for the time being.

That makes sense from a business standpoint, but it's going to suck for smaller parks. That is assuming by highest return they mean strictly highest gross dollar amount earned rather than highest return percentage compared with expenses.

Yeah this is a big part of how SFA ended up in the shape it's was in. Not huge money maker so no new investment which ment same from year to year which ment no drive for return visits unless you were local and it just kept spiraling. Sadly it looks more and more like the combined company is SF in business strategy as well as name.
