I think the thing which has most resonated with me in this thread is the private member's lounge.
Me too, but recently I've been considering a potential problem. My husband and I have a membership at a local museum that includes a member's lounge complete with free coffee, etc. On the surface it sounded great, until we realized the lounge is often full of crying children, as parents take them there to rest when they're tired and cranky. Rather than resting, they tend to spend most of their time in the lounge throwing loud fits. As I've never been to a park with a member's lounge, I'm curious if the situation is similar or worse at a theme park. If so, does the park take any steps to separate families with crying children from other members who want to relax in peace (like a separate nap room or something)? Obviously I understand the appeal to parents of a resting area for tired children, but it seems it would defeat the purpose of having a member's lounge if it were constantly overrun with crying kids.

Good point.

I’ve been to one, and it was a bigger main lounge, but it did have “quiet rooms” and a “no kids” area.

There were children running everywhere at the SWO member lounge.

@WDWRLD: Gavin was clearly referring to you post where you seemed to react to people talking about the member lounge idea. As we have already noted, many people have suggested it. There is no reason to think a return to that discussion has anything to do with you.

I said I was done replying....why poke at me just to try and get another reoly because in your comment is something I have tried to do and the park refuses.

I have thought of quite a few members lounges areas but the biggest problem I see in any of them is size. There are a huge numbers of members so how does the park accomindate them withought creating a place that always has a line to get in? Think of the number of people at the park on say HOS or CT preview, so this brings me to this idea. Have multipul lounges, one for each tier of passes that also have more ammenities based on the level of pass you have.

Maybe the potential of a 21+ section that includes alcohol for purchase as well as places to just chill during the day, and maybe as it gets nightime during summer nights or howl, that's where they put the DJ and stuff so they stop shoving it in uncomfortable venues.

I'm just tired of walking through San Marco during HOS and seeing an awkward DJ set while people sit and stare.

"Call for Ideas: New Membership Program Perks"

On just page 15 of this thread alone, we have complained about the price of BGW, claimed that Walt Disney World's pricing structure is a better value than that of Busch Gardens Williamsburg, made false statements about losing perks that nobody actually lost, have gotten hostile towards very patient moderators... You get the point. Absolutely none of this has anything to do with this thread at all. This shit is getting really annoying too. You made your point clear a very long time ago - you don't like your membership. You keep going on and on about how other people are wrong... Do you expect a positive outcome? This is literally a forum centralized around Busch Gardens and Kings Dominion; this statement alone details that at least ONE person knows what they are talking about.

The New Membership Program Thread was probably the best place to explain any difficulties you may be having with your membership; however, if all you plan to do is take everybody's insight out of context, it may be best to leave the topic alone.

There are too many unproductive arguments going on. Just when an argument seems to evaporate, another finds a way of life in a completely different thread. And it's all about the stupidest things... Believe it or not, everybody on ParkFans isn't a Busch Gardens customer service representative like it seems. We can't solve every person's problem. There isn't a "Super Awesome Patented ParkFans Magical Wand" (that I know of) that controls everything Busch Gardens does.

If you're still having problems with you membership, I suggest emailing the park. Having a response in writing has almost always helped answer/solve any problems/questions I have had in the past.

Busch Gardens Williamsburg:

Phone (757)229-4386
Email (Preferred) Link to Busch Gardens Williamsburg Email Form.

And with that being said, goodnight ladies and gentlemen.

Just because it’s something that you’d like the park to do, doesn’t mean that you have a monopoly on the idea.

This thread has been derailed so many times you’d think it was ran by WMATA. This thread is specifically about discussing new ideas for membership perks. While there has been issues with Memberships, this isn’t the thread or sub fora to discuss it in.

My dont poke at me comment was directed at this post where its clearly directed at me and says dont qoute this post. In it it mentioned that I should contact the park which I have done with no help. I had tried to drop it yet people keep bringing it up.

Then I went on to mention ideas for seperate lounges based on membership levels...if that was brought up before im sorry for mentioning it again. If it seemed like I was trying to take credit for the lounge idea I wasnt I just thought I was adding to it. I feel like we discussed a club or lounge months ago as well in the Darkastle building. I wasnt trying to "monopolize" anything or at least I didnt think I was.

Its clear no matter what I say its taken the wrong way on here, there is always someone here to tell me im wrong, someone that seems to know it all.

How about either side of this seemingly endless back and forth decides to just not reply, so we can move on and we can keep this thread on topic as well as make it so people don't see this forum as a place where all that happens is bickering.

Not saying anyone is in the wrong or anyone is in the right. I just want this to end. I'd like when I see a new message for this thread for it to be actually relevant and helpful to the goal (ironic considering my title).

I tried.....but that was taken as monopolizing the idea.

Heres another idea, lockers. How about allowing members to rent year long lockers for say $100. This would allow them to keep things like ponchos and refillable soda mugs and give them a place to store phones or cameras while on rides. Heck, add a usb charging port for added value. Then allow you to kjeep that exact same locker for the next season if you renew.

The passholder lounge is one of the best perks at Sea World. Just out of the way enough that it's never too crowded but its a great place to stop, rest up and snag free drinks. BGW should definitely do something like that for their passholders.

Somebody a long time ago mentioned refillable mugs. A membership logo maybe to distinguish it from the regular refillable mug? Still pay for the refill just not the mug. Not talking about free drinks.

I remember maybe 5 or 6 years ago WDW/EPCOT had a lounge at the American Showcase pavilion. It was always crowded but small. Capacity was probably 50 or less. If a lounge it would definitely have to be good sized. Would it be possible to convert Dar Kastle, maybe? That seems to be a big building basically serving no useful purpose except HOS. The other thing is staffing a lounge. BGW would have to be willing to foot the bill for staff to keep it clean.

A little off topic but some people will use the Brauhaus as a sort of escape from the main dining/show area and the volume level. This past season it seemed it was being used as a breast feeding lounge, too, a couple of times we were there. I think with all the PC stuff the staff was afraid to say anything so the problem seemed to increase as the season went along. So, what's worse? Screaming kids or breast feeding moms or both? And how do you prevent it? Again, off topic but I saw so many people smoking cigarettes or e-cigarettes walking around in the park and not one employee would challenge or stop it. Actually saw one guy blow smoke in the face of an employee in Ireland and still nothing. My point is maybe the employees need better training about what is PC or not and then enforce the rules. Sorry but I just had to throw that last part in here. If they started smoking in a lounge is an employee going to stop it?

The Epcot loungs was sponsored by Chase Visa for the Food and Wine Festival. It almost always had a wait to get in, once inside there were freestyle machines, places to sit and take a break and although they werent specifically for the purpose plenty of outlets that you could plug your phone into. Its now the location of Club 33. Speaking of mugs, I really wish they would go the route that KD has gone where you dont have a refillable cup to carry around.

So, what's worse? Screaming kids or breast feeding moms or both?

I know that this is off topic, but screaming kids is so much worse. I can choose to ignore the breast feeding mom. It makes me personally uncomfortable, but it's not my place to say anything. But the screaming kid....as much as you try to ignore it, it's a darn screaming kid and that noise gets old.

But in the vain of the breast feeding mom thing, even just a members restroom would be nice. This would be easier if we had actual plastic cards (YOU HEAR THAT BGW/SEAS....PLASTIC CARDS....NOVEL IDEA FOR 90+ and 75%+ HUMIDITY VIRGINIA!!!) (Sorry I went through 3 reprints this year alone because I sweat a lot) that had a magnetic strip on it (like your credit card). The bathroom door is always locked, but you can swipe your card to get into it. That can be a bathroom with like, nicer stalls, double ply TP, some nice sinks. You know...just maintained to a higher degree.

As far as the screaming kids in the lounge, I would come up with a simple proposal to that:
For now, transfer CoDK building into a temporary family friendly lounge, and CoS into a permanent 'adults only' lounge. Is it a bit of a pain if you are a family and want some quiet? Absolutely. But is it nice to have a quiet lounge to hide in? Heck yes.

As I sit here and think a few other things that would be nice:
Members only Brew. Get some micro-brew or AB to brew up something that only members can get.
A "Members only" show at some of the theaters you can restrict access.
4th of July members only party in Festhaus field.

As a very environmentally conscious person, I hope not. That's an absolute waste. Is it nice to finish a drink and throw it away? Sure. But 10 drinks a day in 10 different cups is horrible for the environment and a waste of great resources.

I get my refillable mug at the start of the year and go from there.

What they should do is offer a Yeti/KleanKanteen/Insulated water bottle, and if you buy that, you get free water for the year. But tied to what you brought up (and others have as well), offering a single pay year long locker would really help with this. I know I personally would get it, because I pay for a locker every time since I take my backpack to the park every time for my park kit (poncho, camera, sunscreen, extra sunglasses, extra hat, purell, extra underwear, extra socks, deodorant...can you tell I'm a boyscout and a planner?). A year long locker rental (although the max I would pay is $50 since it's only $5 a trip) would be a nice thing to have.

I think they need to do an add-on that's called the "all-access" pass that gets you 1 QQ/visit, 1 Photopass/visit, Meal plan, Drink plan, Locker plan, along with the ride tour or animal tour and they package that at like 20% off buying all on it's own.

Heck, I just want the plastic pass, like so many of you are saying.

A darn plastic pass card (with up to one included free per year, in your choice of BGW-inspired design) would feel like a real perk to me. Would a plastic pass card really be such a great expense? They sure seem resistant to offering it as a free/included membership perk.

I still have my first Bronze pass with the clydesdale foal as a souvenir, as well as my BBW Germany Gold one. Honestly, a plastic pass card would be all that it would take to make me feel kind of appreciated as a member.

Side note -- Of course I paid for a plastic Conservation Fund one end of 2017 season, only to have to switch to the Membership program come spring 2018, and back to a paper one.

I wish I could get my pass back on my passbook on my phone. It worked before the "memberships" but once those came around it gives you the option in the BGW app but it wont actually add it t passbook.

How much revenue does a locker bring in per season? I wonder if giving it exclusively to a pass holder for $100 per season (as I interpreted a previous post to suggest) places it above the price most people would be willing to pay, but also below the seasonal revenue that locker would bring in under normal ad-hoc rental operation. Not great if true.

If the park has far more locker supply than demand calls for most of the time, then maybe it at least makes sense from the park’s POV...
