It would be nice to relocate the skyride to six flags great America to replace it's original but , definitely not happening.

Considering that corporate has been reducing costs & closing rides I don’t expect anything would be relocated to another company park. They would
either sell or scrap for parts. But I’m in a pessimistic mood right now so you be the judge

I am 99.5% sure that rides that are in good shape and fairly easy to transport will be moved to other Six Flags parks.

The chain isn't just cutting rides to cut rides. It's called Project Accelerate because they're cutting problematic rides to fund new investment. This is clear from the 2026 announcements thus far.

I'm actually a bit surprised the park will make it as far as the 2027 season after all the special events were discontinued for the 2025 season. It felt like things were speeding up to a more immediate closure.
Except that the fall special events run into football season when the park has to close any time there's a game being played at the stadium next door. It doesn't make sense to do only Saturdays for Halloween and Christmas.

With Grand Carnivale discontinued everywhere but Kings Island, it was unlikely Carnivale at Orleans Place would have come back in any case. I figured the park could at least have a few small-scale events under the Summerbration banner being used across the chain this year.

It's wild to consider how the park that piloted major seasonal events like the new-era WinterFest and Tricks and Treats was the first one to have those seasonal events taken away altogether.

While I was at it with the data on Great Adventure’s rides’ ages, I did CGA as well as I wanted to see what the scale of it being parted out could look like:

Mean:
Coasters - 29.33
Flats - 30.27
Overall - 30.05

Mode:
Coasters - N/A, all built different years
Flats - 49*
Overall - 49

Median:
Coasters - 32
Flats - 26
Overall - 26

Couldn’t find an opening year for Sally’s Swing Set, but I can’t imagine it would’ve had any considerable effect on the results.

I think the mode for the flats, and the park overall, being the park’s age is very telling for the future (or lack thereof) of a lot of these rides. I’m all for preserving opening day attractions, which is a department in which I’ve been sorely disappointed with Great Adventure, but they also really shouldn’t make up THAT much of the park unless you’re Disney and have “fuck you we’re Disney” amounts of money and can constantly be overhauling said attractions.

I'm taking that with a wheelbarrow full of salt.

To be frank, it just makes absolutely zero sense.

I'll be thrilled if I'm proven wrong, but... I don't buy it.
They've even talked about "winding down operations" last month with cuts coming November 2nd. I have a hard time buying that they reversed the course without any hard evidence.

Well, this announcement combined with the look of the calendar for next year is certainly making what I was told a few months ago sound far more plausible. The rumor is that without seasonal events, the park operated at a loss for 2025 and Six Flags wanted to just not reopen the park next year. However, because they already sold passes for next season, closing it would result in costly refunds to passholders and significant negativity toward the company in the region (which could very likely harm SFDK), so they'll be running the park for one more year with a skeleton staff and minimum budget to fulfill contractual obligations. The official closure announcement likely won't be made until around the time season passes for the next season typically go on sale, at which point CGA guests will be informed the park will not be reopening for the 2027 season and that they should purchase a pass from SFDK instead.

This art popped up on Instagram that looks like CGA. No idea if it’s a real proposal or what, but the company has worked with Knotts in the past:

We know CGA has flirted with the concept of a "CityWalk"-style development outside the park, and this looks like it has that concept as well, and also with a hotel that looks like Hotel del Coronado (similar to the Grand Floridian) is present as well. Guessing this is old art between the years of 2013 and 2018; somewhere between Gold Striker and Railblazer's opening.

This art could have been a part of a feasibility study, as some kind of pitch for creative work for the park/chain, or even for a third party who was looking at an acquisition. Given the park's proximity to Silicon Valley, it wouldn't surprise me if there were multiple investors involved in trying to buy the park land to diversify it (and also given that these plans look pretty generic, maybe we are talking people outside the established theme park industry who only have a tenuous grasp on what "dark ride in a building" or "roller coaster in a mountain" would actually be).

IIRC, this is from a concept art package put together in the mid/late 2010s when the park was seeking approval from the city on their 20 year development plan. There was a period right after Cedar Fair took full ownership of the park where they were looking into converting it from a day park into something similar to Knott's Berry Farm, with a shopping district and on-side lodging, in order to both increase the range of drawing power from the park and allow it to coexist better with the stadium immediately next door. Unfortunately, the pandemic killed this future for the park.
