RE: BGW's Social Media

HOLY COW! Did anybody check out the comments they got when they announced the Christmas Town Pass? It is just complaint after complaint after complaint that pass holders shouldn't have to pay period and that is should all be free because they pay so much each year.

I swear, and Zachary thought they were under selling the event :p

So Zach gave me permission to post this from the park's facebook page. I saw it in the pic with the Fiends practice. It does contain some salty language though.

Unfortunately it was deleted after I reported her name.

I feel that it will be a fun weekend on the Facebook page.
I just can't see how somebody with a name like that can post that comment.. LMAO.

RE: BGW's Social Media

To be the devil's advocate, anyone who pays for an annual or two year pass should get in free to Christmas Town. They're called annual passes for a reason _ underselling the event or not. If the park wants to keep Christmas Town separate, just rename the passes to something else.

RE: BGW's Social Media

So far the only bad comment about Howl-o-Scream:

It was aweful ev1 I have been a pass holder for 13 years and I went tonight and I got mad and left and very much thinking of stopping my pass they shorten the boo houses and there is nothing like when the first owners had it I am very very disappointed and thinking when uear ends im jumping on kings domion pass member side

Everything else has typically been pretty good reviews.

RE: BGW's Social Media

Last night I went to Howl o Scream with my family. We went through the haunted house called Bitten. One of the characters that worked inside jumped out at my 12 year old niece. His face was 4 inches from hers. She playfully said "Get out of my face dude." We were continuing forward and then I heard the guy shouts out a comment. I didn't understand exactly what he said, only the word bitch. My friend who was walking behind me saw him shout this towards my niece. As soon as I heard it I turned around shocked and asked "Did you just call my 12 year old niece a bitch?" My friend grabbed me and made me turn back around to leave. I ran forward to alert my sister. We tried to go back and find the man. She asked the first guy she saw if he called her daughter a bitch. I told her that he was not the one. I tried to go back and see if I could find him but It was so dark and confusing in there I could not remember where he was nor had I gotten a clear look at him. While this was happening my friend had alerted one of the female character's in there of what had happened. We decided to just get out and tell the manager or security. When we did get out we found a manager she told us to speak with security until she got the manager for the entertainers. His reaction was less than sympathetic. He informed us that If what we had told him was true, that it did not represent busch gardens in any way. That" if it was true" and they could find the person who did it they would deal with the situation. That he's sorry" if it did" happen. I told him that I know for a fact that it did happen because I was there and I heard it. He repeated again "if it's true" and I had to turn away out of frustration. The first manager we spoke to was apologizing she said that the female character inside had already made a report about what my friend had told her while we were inside but did not explain what they were doing about. The security guard told us to make sure that we went to guest services and inform them before we leave. He said "I could bring him out here and yell at him and that would probably make you happy, but it won't make any difference unless you tell guest services" I told him I didn't want anyone to "bring him out so I can watch them yell at him", I want him fired. We went to guest services before we left and I made a report. She handed me a business card and told me I would be compensated. I told her what I want is for them to find the employee that did this and reprimand him in some way. That I have been coming to this park since I was a child and have been a season pass holder for several years. I am shocked that this happened and I want to know that something is going to be done about it. So it doesn't happen to someone else's child, or worse. I am so angry about this. Please watch out for your children in the haunted houses people. Busch Garden's will not protect you if something does happen.

hmm

RE: BGW's Social Media

That Post infuriates me to no end...

No performer is gonna call a 12 year old a bitch... If she couldn't understand him, how could she understand the word bitch? And she wants him fired...

I hope these guys never go to a more intense haunt event...

RE: BGW's Social Media

I still dont understand why people use the Facebook page as a way of bitching their issues.

If you care that much, write them an email or call them, your just reaching to some random guy in marketing who doesn't give a shit and could only write their scripted carbon copy response if they did.

RE: BGW's Social Media

Did I say anything was wrong with that? I just thought it was something different than what you typically see and worht pointing out.

RE: BGW's Social Media

I was scrolling around their Facebook page and I found a few notable comments, some of them have nothing wrong with them at all, just worth noting, while others take a different tone.

As per request from Zach, I shall link away to where you shall find these comments, so click away right here!

First one is from Rhonda Smith Burgan, " I have never been to a Hallow scream that I have not enjoyed myself.. They do an Excellent Job with decorating the park.. playing Halloween Music etc.. its not just for kids.. its for everyone that WANTS to have a good time .. there are ALWAYS going to be those discontented people no matter WHAT is planned at the park.. I think the Majority have a great time!"

The bold part I thought was a disservice to the event marketing. The event is not supposed to be for kids, why say it is for everyone?

Next we have Holly Davis, "We were there last weekend, and I must say....I'm a little shocked at the fact that Busch Gardens has turned more into a " Party/outside nightclub" than the Haunted amusement park we have been visiting for the last 12-13 years. There a bars that sell mixed drinks and beer on tap, as well as the aluminum bottle beer, which they have more different kinds of also, and shots in different spots! There is loud dancing music, and I seen a lot of younger kids, that I'm pretty sure were not old enough to drink with alcohol. NO...I don't think they purchased it, however, there is nothing stopping people from buying it for them. The haunted houses were not as good, the props were, but there aren't very many people working in them, and with out people in them....they aren't very scary! I've been a platinum pass holder for more than 10 years...but I think it's time to call it quits. Very disappointed!"

Firstly, I don't think the park has turned into a "party/outside nightclub" they just added something that appealed to that specific audience; whether it be a good decision or not is debatable but there is sure plenty more Halloween attractions based on scares.
It is a park born and raised by a beer manufacturer, what do you expect? Alcohol will always be extremely prevalent in the park especially around Halloween as it seems to be customary.
Kids get other people to buy them alcohol all the time from many other places, sadly it will happen, but I have seen situations at the park where they get caught and get arrested.

Thought I'd include Shea Warner's, "Sorry, but Demon Street was dumb. Worst thing you guys have done for HoS ever."

A voice for those who don't like it, though I don't agree with that statement, it is worth knowing that not everyone agrees and that is the way life will always be.

Who can skip Alva Nidia, "Went sunday, big improvement from last year, decorations in France are really good, ppl in my group thought demon dj should play todays hits versus head banging weird music. The vampire hotel outside dinner area is the best idea yet. Overall, awesome decorations, houses we're good, I would add a bit more actors walking around and lose the skanky nurses. Ireland used to be a fun spot... bring back monster stomp and it'll be perfect again."

Because we all love todays hits versus "head banging weird music."
They aren't skanky, just naughty ;) and for those who enjoy classic rock, jello shooters, and naughty nurses it is a fun spot.

This one is by Tara Lane, "I was there Sunday and thought the whole park was just awesome. Costumes were great. "Spookies" in the streets were fun and well-decked out. Houses were very creative - especially Deadline - very well done and unique. Only thing I thought was questionable were the suggestive vulgar jokes in Fiends. Not necessary, not funny, and made me cringe with kids in the audience. Otherwise, it was such an entertaining show - not sure why they felt the need to sex it up."

Fiends by it's very nature is a show that uses sex because it sells. Yes they overdid it this year and it just made the show awkward but still you should go into there knowing they have naughty nurses and have had sexual innuendos previous years.

Another one by Holly Davis, "I hated the family friendly, although I do miss Jack. I like that they make it more adult friendly and not kid. I DO remember the club BG with z104, and thought that was decent, but I don't think causing more drunk driving incidents and teens possible fighting or worse yet getting behind the wheel of a car. I'm not a party pooper by any means, by I am a concerned parent and grand parent. Thankfully my kids are grown and my GK's don't live here, but I pray no one will have to live with that heartache from what they thought was a night of worry less fun."

The park has done the club thing previously apparently, so nothing new. Things come and go. I highly doubt that that park is causing more drunk driving or fighting teenagers?

Holly Davis has the most interesting comments by far, "And for the record.....yea...it was FUN...not from a SCARE point, but its somewhere that parents with teens should be careful letting them hang out at!" also "This is not just " one of those people who like to complain comments," so think what you will, and, yes, I know they have sold tap beer that long...but not at this capacity. And as for the high presence of security....LOL"

Hmm, I think there are worse places for teens to hang out than HoS. Most the people I've seen cause problems is in the 20 - 24 category (no offense meant to that age group, just an observation).
The park hasn't really added too much more beer on tap, then again I refer to my last comment, born and raised by alcohol.
Wow, laughing at the high presence of security, I actually think that there is a fairly decent amount of security for what they have to work with. Just to note there is approximately 2 -3 security officers per house plus an actual police officer, not to include the one officer per hamlet area.

Once again, I just saw these I thought I'd mention them, with a bit of commentary. Something to think about and look at.

But, judging by the park's reaction to it, even they know the truth about Demon Street...

Yes, the park liked that post. You just can't make this stuff up.
