Correct me if I’m wrong- this statue is going to be the “hint of something monstrous beneath the waves” on the first drop?
Also curious about this - was this a cancelled element? Did they just decide in the middle of construction that it would be better located at the end of the ride instead of the first drop?
Both were planned in the final product. The first drop "sighting" got canceled. The statue was always supposed to be there.

Bummer... would love to know what the "sighting" was going to be even if just a shadow on the water or something,

I'm interested to see what the statue looks like. Original guess was the monster lunging at us but the mouth looks closed.

Can't wait for Christmastown when someone hikes down there and puts a santa hot on it!

My opinion about this new renovation now that I've had time to think about it is that it's pretty good! Nessie is running smoother in some places but still has her characteristic janky-ness and I love that! I had trouble understanding the audio, even while sitting on the left side, but some of that might be me. The first scene is definitely a great addition. The audio was out on my 2nd ride on the right so I'm not sure what the difference in sound is.
The screen in the tunnel is good as is, but would be better if the video switches to show Nessie with a train queue or something? Maybe that way they could randomize it so sometimes you don't see her (a thought for future seasons)?
I'm excited for the "surprise" in the Rhine! And I love the new transfer track tent.
I only bought my picture even though the flash was out so it hard to see anything. It seems they're having a lot of issues keeping all the electronics in working order.

Do the tunnel like Verbolten

Effect 1: nothing at all until the end

Effect 2: chill Nessie swimming beside the train like a puppy

Effect 3: take advantage of how fast the train goes and go angry Nessie where she's actively lunging at the train and trying to eat you,

I’m so freakin conflicted on how to feel… on one hand I’m super excited to see what the final surprise is for the tunnel… on the other hand it feels like Christmas morning when all of the presents have been unwrapped lol
Final surprise...in the tunnel?

Pretty sure the statue was the final piece. Maybe another screen or two in the tunnel.

Anaconda is a ride of thirds. The first third (drop loop sidewinder) are awesome and a great start. The second third (the helix doohickey) while slow and boring wasn’t painful, just boring. And then the final third is the corkscrews over the water which are awesome. More exciting and is a better ride to me. Although just gonna say I haven’t had an issue with smoothness on either LNM or anaconda. Found both to be jerky but smooth.
Anaconda gave my brother in law a concussion

This things HAULS Now! Could it be that it’s running with full trains? I don’t want it to go away. Also shoutout to Cam for the incredible operations on Sunday. It hauling into the station was an incredible sensation.

I could have sworn we were supposed to come across the monster in the tunnel. Then again, I may have accidentally paired the tunnel and the general "come face to face with Nessie" with the commercial and assumed that there would be a final screen in the tunnel with that commercial... when in reality the "final confrontation" is the statue at the end.

Participated in one of the advertising shoots yesterday, and while we were unable to take any photos/videos, I can say that the Nessie statue was much larger than I was anticipating and looks great. We got to see it both on the ride and from the landing. It also has audio timed with its location at the base of the 2nd loop. Its location on the opposite side of the track from the on ride photo cameras may create some interesting pictures though, and I'm wondering if the park has updated the photo frame/overlay to take advantage of riders likely focusing on the statue and looking away from the cameras. Also, the screens on both sides of the track were operational in the cave.

Any impressions re: the screen on the left side of the cave? Everything I've heard is fairly lukewarm to negative.
I thought it was fine, nothing earth shattering. More of the CGI Nessie from the outside screen moving/popping up like it's stalking the train. It's always difficult to get the full effect because the screens get washed out from the filming lights mounted to the train.

Outside screen? Unless you mean the statue (sorry brain is fried lol).

Okay, in the tunnel, there are a few things:

-A static model of the monsters belly as soon as you enter the tunnel (on the upper left hand corner of the ceiling).

-A set of screens on the left (inside wall) that were turned off for public rides. This shows the monster simply swimming.

-One screen on the right (outside wall) that has the monster roaring at the train. Depending on the dispatch time, you may not see it as the video is on a constant loop.

-There is lighting shining on all static theming around the screens and on the belly in the mountain.

The statue is at loop #2. No regular guests have seen it because it was put up this week while the park was closed. It is a physical encounter with the head of Nessie coming out of the water.

The story goes, if you listen carefully, you find nessie in the cave (on the right screen), on lift 2 the narrator is basically saying "you found him, hurry, he's after you!" And then a roar. Then loop #2 is another roar and you escaping from the monster and then the final brake is basically congratulations you found him and escaped.
