My question right now is what tools would be available to add theme/narrative to the second ride to suggest some kind of difference from the first: AR/VR would 100% be the easiest, but a lot will depend on how the two trains overlap at any point In terms of sharing space, and whether the timing could be precise enough that the overall lighting of the building could be controlled such that it would feel like a different space between the two runs.

If there are physical props simply changing the lighting to show a different set of props would be enough to trick riders the second go around. The biggest thing that would tip riders off is experiencing the ride multiple different times and eventually they'd figure out the parlor trick.

Seems like an opportunity to intelligently leverage projection mapping.

It doesn't really require the latest and greatest in projector tech (aka $$$); doesn't need to show more than a rotation of static scenes, possibly some very limited effects; keeps backdrops simple; and makes set redressing between laps dead easy. Maybe add a few physical set pieces or at least mixed-distance surfaces, which can of course be projection mapped upon as well.

No complex character animations, no tying in with long form audio, just simple implementation. The basics can go a long way.

We have seen both DK's and Verbolten's fates, so I am hesitant to imagine what state this might decay to in several years' time. But hope springs eternal. And there has to be something in there, as I don't expect a family ride to take place completely in the dark.

So honestly I'd be happy with regular old decent static set pieces and cute near-misses in the swoops and turns. Just keep the spotlights working and dust the place every so often.

The vast majority of guests are too oblivious to tell Griffon and Alpengeist apart, and that was before they painted them the same. Nobody is gonna figure out the parlor trick except full blown thoosies like everyone on this board.

I'm not sure what not knowing the name of a coaster has to do with being aware that you just ran through the same layout twice. Lack of in depth park knowledge does not equate to obliviousness or stupidity.

Counterpoint: I know nuclear fission and the names of the two primary reactor area but I'm oblivious as to the gritty technical details.

Right. My point is that specific expertise has no bearing on the likelihood of someone being aware of the layout of a coaster they are currently riding. So, you seem to be supporting my position.

I really hope they find a way to hide this trick track looper section. I think like the way Mummy surprises you the first time with the backwards, spin, then launch. Tunnel that section in so if there is any light it’s a shock to go through it the first time.

Same dimension in a different time stage. I don’t imagine humans will fair too well in dimensions with alternative physics.
Perhaps, I know very little about multiverse transport physics or literally anything about Quantum mechanics. imagine we are a few centuries off from that being on roller coasters.

I'm trying to think of potential theming ideas, one would be something along the lines of theming the first launch section to do something different each time (maybe even have it launch at a slightly faster speed if that's possible?). I definitely think the second loop should be some sort of themed surprise that most people won't see coming. Stuff like that is the stuff GP talk about in casual conversation (assuming theme parks in anyway came up organically to begin with and were not brought up by a thoosie). They should definitely do something cool with all the lighting at least. Just please not "small wave breaker in a box" but if that's what we get, then I will shut up and ride it between Verbolten and Alpengeist if the line isn't pervasive.
