Verbolten has grey out forces on it. It’s definitely on the milder side but a lot of people wouldn’t consider it a family coaster since it has some strong positive G forces on it. This will definitely serve as a level up from Grover’s and below Invadr and depending on the theming a very worthy successor to Darkastle. I think BGW hit a home run with this one they get a brand new world class multi-launch in Pantheon then follow up with a quad-launch first of a kind family coaster. It’ll surely draw attendance plus as Zachary implied they’re still seeking to build a giga.

I really hope they do the ending fakeout on this like on Mummy. There could be an announcement on the first brake run saying “thank you for riding DarKoaster (or whatever it will be called). Please lift up on your safety harness-“ and then it speeds up again.

"You'll never Escaaaaaape (at least for one more lap)"-Ludwig Probably

"Hope you had a wickedly wonderful tour! Thank you for—" "YOU WILL NEVER ESCAPE!"

Probably a crazy thought but given that it's an indoor heated rude do we think BGW might bulk from the usual spring opening and open this during a Winter event or even possibly 2022 Christmas Town?

I actually discussed this possibility with Zachary at length. We think it's highly unlikely that they'll open it for CT 2022 because the park is already naturally slammed for that event... But it would be an excellent gate turner for Jan 2023.

A scenario like that is highly plausible.

It’s a great way to get people to visit during the winter (mainly pass holders, since most aren’t going to be able to make that trip out in that part of the year), I wouldn’t be surprised if maybe they do what Universal did with Velocicoaster and open it for technical rehearsals for members, and then officially open it to everyone in spring.

So, just thinking out loud and if any of this had been discussed before, I apologize. Finished reading the article and wow, I did not see that coming! (Insert Michael Scott gif here) First thought, what if this was an AR/VR enabled ride? I do remember some higher ups wanting a VR, indoor coaster and it would make sense with having 2 laps as guests most likely would not know that they followed the same track twice if they are immersed in the VR world. Also, 10 seater trains would make managing VR headsets easier. Now the biggest reason I can think that they may not do this is Covid. VR sets means passing germs between guests and that is not a very good idea right now. What I would propose is that maybe they would make the story work with or without headsets, so that those who do not want to (or if covid is persisting through then, but that's a topic for another thread) wear one can still enjoy the ride. Second thought, I love the bypass track as it's a great way to lengthen the ride while keeping the track length (and therefore manufacturing costs) down. Operationally, it will help with loading, especially if it is only 2 trains. Just like Pantheon, in only in the rarest of circumstances should the trains be stacked. I'll shut up now, but if anyone has additional constructive thoughts, I can't wait to hear them. Oh, and also, happy new year.

If they do projection on wall or screens, real effects like Darkastle…or a really quick Haunted Mansion 🙂, of course continuing a story through the second pass, would me ideally cool for me.

I guess if BFE is totally gone, and they just spent a boatload on the equipment, it'd make some sense.

I'd hope, given the thought that they're keeping general CoDK theming and whatnot inside the building (tower/wall) that if they use the goggles they're attempting some form of AR and not true VR.

Eire's VR systems are already hopelessly outdated. They'd definitely have to buy all new equipment if they went that route. That said, I'm pretty confident that BGW isn't going to touch VR with a ten foot pole for a LONG while. Eire sorta proved how inadequate the technology is for a park setting right now.

Was still the best attempt at VR on a theme park attraction though, six flags just slapped it on roller coasters and called it a new ride. At least Eire was built with it in mind,

My question right now is what tools would be available to add theme/narrative to the second ride to suggest some kind of difference from the first: AR/VR would 100% be the easiest, but a lot will depend on how the two trains overlap at any point In terms of sharing space, and whether the timing could be precise enough that the overall lighting of the building could be controlled such that it would feel like a different space between the two runs.

With AR, the idea is that everything is still visible but just enhanced with added visuals plus any audio elements.

Perhaps the narrative suggests that you're being chased by Ludwig; first lap is setting up the chase, second lap is reaching victory.

The AR would allow for scenery and/or superimposed characters to be added or removed as you go so that while if you paid attention you'd notice that you're circling the same track twice but the storyline makes it feel new.
