Everyone has already made all the jokes I had in my head when I saw the post above saying they're building a coal-mining horror house.

Does the scary aspect come from the ecological pollution and the cancer you'll eventually develop?

Also, I happened to walk through that house at KD before it was shuttered, it wasn't anything special as far as I remember. I think it was similar to Lumberhack/Witch of the Woods but without the wide dirt path sets/rooms. You didn't miss anything.

something makes me think it will feature a story similar to Deadline where they released some deadly toxin/gas while mining causing the miners to turn into zombies

seems pretty par for the course considering the creativity in recent years

I did some hacking into the mainframe and you all couldn't be more wrong.

Tired of all these woke haunted houses, Governor Youngkin has apparently made a decree that we have to teach both sides of Halloween. Thus Busch Gardens has had no choice but to develop:

FOSSIL FOOLS

The story seems to be that after shutting down all coal mining, a devastating winter storm has hit Virginia (tying in with DarkKoaster's deep lore). However, because there is no coal, everyone is freezing to death. In the first half of the maze you wander through frozen scenes, being attacked by frozen zombies (an excellent excuse to reuse Frostbite assets). Then you enter the mine itself, where you attempt to restart the mining process, but are attacked by representatives of the Clean Virginia PAC, who have fused into a flesh monster (because they've still got the flesh blob from Dystopia).

As you leave, you're handed an informational packet about the dangers you just witnessed, and how we might prevent them.

I understand that new event leadership wants to put their fingerprints all over the event so I'm not too mad at all the new tags added to the houses. A little worried about any changes to Killarney Diner since it was such a high-concept house already, but I'll give it a chance. Not sure why Dead Mine Lost Mines needed "The Decent" tacked onto it though.

It will be a very intriguing year for sure. I have a lot of hope.
