^^-- any evidence Alpengeist will be only weekends OTHER than that's what they were doing? Skyride down any part of CT sounds like a complete fail.

Anyway, no Christmas miracle this year (Pantheon).
When I looked at the website a few days ago under the attractions list for Christmas town, it had those two rides listed as weekends only. Now it does not say that. Maybe it was weekends only for HowloScream and they had not updated the website yet.

I’d entertain doing the upcharge cruise as a one-time thing if they added a bit more value over the regular season river cruise. Just hot chocolate doesn’t seem like enough to justify the cost for me, especially since I imagine it will be cold on the water. If they added some sort of little snack, like bottomless kettle corn, and maybe had a live violinist or something, that would make it feel like a truly special experience.

I assume the ride will be longer than the typical main season loop, but unless they add a ton of new lights along the route, I struggle to imagine it being worth it. As it is now, it sounds like $40 to float around a dark forest, shiver in the cold breeze coming off the water, and sip overpriced hot coco.

But a few minor tweaks could add a lot of value and make it a nice date outing or family memory.

I’d like the old F&W cruise, but with hot drinks to accompany the cheese plate. I do hope there are more lights down there, because the angles and views could be great.
I paid for the old F&W cruise with visitors once and it’s totally worth it. Great break from the action. I brought these same people to CT and they asked if we could do it again because of the break. Agree with other though that more that hot cocoa would be nice.

Based on reports from credible sources don't expect much to be added to the cruise. My understanding is that there is an ongoing battle between to groups in the park over it and what to add and that currently the don't add any new lights is winning. If you are not pleased with what you see my advice is make your voice heard as my understanding is there is still a willingness improve it in some sectors but only if there is enough pressure to do so.

At least the cut through path by Loch Ness loops will be open if the boats are open.

$40 for a ride that’s normally included in admission is a very United Parks thing to do (BGT Skyride). Unless they adorn the lake with light displays, there won’t be anything to see but dark water and shadows of leafless trees.

The boat ride was actually for Christmas Town was actually an idea pushed by the tour people in the park hence why it and add on expense. From what I have heard they have very ambitious plans an ideas for it in the future that night very well justify that $40 charge but in it's current form it seems to be heading toward major let down. Sadly based on what I have heard it's a case of great idea but terf and limited budget guarding by other departments and people that need to work hand and hand to pull it off. I expect it to be a one off year and fail but I hope I am wrong and it's successful enough that it supports future years and the full plans that the people envisioning it have cause they are not bad if they come to pass.
