There will be some changes. I noticed last month that several of the large conical evergreens in Rhinefeld have been removed. They were the ones that had white and red lights in a peppermint candy stripe pattern.

I was hoping for a new show in the Globe. Scrooge is getting stale. I skip it on most visits.

If they were plotting any really significant decoration changes, I'd hope they would have announced them. Remember back in the day when they'd overhaul one full village's theme each year? I miss that strategy a lot.

Also, Scrooge remains my favorite Christmas Town show so, selfishly, I'm glad to see it back. That said, all of these shows are getting incredibly long in the tooth and, ignoring my personal preferences for a moment, I would have been glad to see any of them replaced just to get something fresh. Really hope to see some investment into new offerings next year.

I like Scrooge better than Up on the Haustop. It deviates to hard towards R&B and not the Christmas classics. My favorite is the one in Italy.

Does anyone know the German Christmas song that's playing as you cross the bridge?

Does anyone know if new Nessie has a minimum operating temperature? As far as I remember Arrows didn't have any

Music throughout the park is in a dire need of a refresh. Some of the same songs have been playing for 15 years, or at least it feels like the same songs.
I would give this a like, because I agree that the music could use a refresh, but I have zero faith that the park would choose music nearly as deliberately as when they picked the current music. The songs in San Marco and the Wild Reserve, for example, have been around for an incredibly long time. But they set such a specific mood that matches the decor of their area, which creates a perfectly curated feeling that you get when you walk through. San Marco is beautiful and peaceful, the Wild Reserve is pensive and reflective. I don’t trust the park to replace either with anything nearly as distinctive.

For evidence of why I don’t trust the park to put that same thought into developing a specific mood with new music selections, I’ll point to a few examples:
  • The Polar Pathway show they debuted last year. The show had absolutely no attempt at conveying a specific tone or sparking a specific emotion. It was a cheap, uninspired mashup of Christmas pop songs. And it clashed horribly with the gorgeous, haunting atmospheric music they play around Polar Pathway.
  • The “new” Christmas soundtrack they play in Aquitaine. In a perfect example of what happens when BGW replaces a deliberately curated soundtrack with whatever tickles their fancy, the park took out the clever 12 Days of Christmas soundtrack and replaced it with the former soundtrack from the Santa meet and greet queue, which is just a bunch of Christmas movie scores. Lazy and, again, uninspired.
  • The main season San Marco soundtrack. The park replaced San Marco’s longtime soundtrack of instrumental Italian classical sounds and sweeping orchestra scores, which elevated the beauty and elegance of the area, with an inexplicable playlist of Italian pop, opera, and other odds and ends. Any sense of beauty and sense of place evoked by the music has been demolished.
So in short, the original soundtracks were designed by people who at least put some level of artistry and thought into the music and how they complimented each area and its decor. The park hasn’t shown any evidence that anyone at the park cares that much anymore.

That said, if they were going to change an area, I think Heatherdowns’ “O Holy Night” motif has lost its novelty (not because of anything religious; it’s just a one-trick pony that’s gotten old). And they better not touch the quirky German Christmas songs and carols in Oktoberfest.
