There is a SERIOUS wasp issue that needs to be addressed IMMEDIATELY. Griffon needs to be shutdown immediately, there were a countless amount of them up there, and I can SEE a swarm of them on the top of Mach Tower from the ground.
As a matter of fact, the park does try to deal with the wasps. We asked about it on our roller coaster tour last spring. Apparently, the wasps are very attracted to something in the machinery, and it is almost impossible to get rid of them.
I was just wondering about this time around. I know they deal with them often, and manage to lower their numbers. But it seems to have taken a little while for this time?
I think the park is smart enough not to use toxic chemicals on an area where any person may be exposed to them. There are non-toxic chemicals they can use.
I'm pretty sure that part of the problem is finding a way to get rid of them that is safe for guests and the other animals. And apparently they keep coming back.
Hanging a june bug 'bag-a-bug' up there filled with hummingbird food would trap/kill them all. The park wont be doing this though because it would involve everybody seeing an ugly bag hanging on the ride. There's an image to up-hold here ya know. (It would be safe bug control instead of chemicals or explosions though)
