Also one more thing, since when did they raise the minimum operating temp for all the coasters their? last cmt i was riding everything in sub 40 degree weather fine, but every attraction shut down as soon as it hit below 40, was very confused about this compared to last christmas townTonight was... Intresting, all three coasters were closed for the night by 745, alpengeist or verboten didn’t even open the whole night. and finnegans closed too. the only attraction open was the train, guests were not pleased, i left around 8 because i had my hot chocolate and checked on alpie one more time and i was not gonna stick around just to get told it wouldn’t open tonight. kinda disappointed tbh
That’s terrible for anyone paying full freight and getting little more than to walk around and look at some lights. This event just doesn’t work well without the shows and entertainment when the temps drop.Tonight was... It wouldn’t be as much an issue if tickets weren’t date specific and reservation dates could be changed, but right now guests have to buy and hope the weather cooperates.I mean, it’s not as though the park promised otherwise, and frankly they’ve been lucky to have the weather they’ve had (and it seems like they’re going to be in good shape next weekend as well). But this is definitely an event that plummets in value in the cold, and there’s no question that with the capacity increase a much larger percentage of guests are not doing their research in advance to understand how things are different this year.

i’m going tomorrow night i’m not taking any chances on it closing by friday night or something
If they have to shift to outdoor dining, that may be challenging given space issues around Festhaus. You’d almost want to revamp the menu to street food (fries, gyros, etc.) that’s easy to eat without a table, but that brings in a bunch of logistical issues.Based on the reporting, it doesn’t seem like we’re going back to Phase 2 (there’s languages about “nuanced” and “targeted”), so surely BGW is crossing its fingers and hoping that the worst case scenario is having to close Festhaus.
so in case of this events cap getting lowered is it sustainable on 1k cap?
Yeah, it doesn't sound like anything announced today will have any impact on BGW at all. I'm a bit surprised that restaurants weren't hit with tighter restrictions, but I guess the data out of them is acceptable right now? ?![]()
A chart I saw awhile back showed indoor private gatherings as the most prevalent spread problem by quite a bit, so this is targeted at that. I think outdoor large public gatherings, which BGW kind of fits in, were 5th and much lower spread in general. I’m not sure how effective this measure will actually be as those being careful already probably weren’t the ones having 25 or 250 people over to their house.Someone pushed him on this in the press conference, pointing to how telling people they can't gather in their homes but they can gather in restaurants seems hypocritical, and they basically explained that they believe an expansion of enforcement is capable of addressing those concerns given the existing restrictions in place.
Definitely a sigh of relief coming from SEAS/CF today.
