What Busch doesn’t need is to get a SFA reputation, because 100% of people will see the price tag that comes with fights and stop coming. Can’t be chargin $90 and having fights
Agree 100%!! In my opinion, they already are SFA. I live in MD and choose to drive 3.5 hrs to BGW so I can avoid that type of crowd. We are members and have been for a few years. We will not be renewing our membership this year after what we witnessed on Saturday 9/11. Total and complete chaos!!

Ive had BGW APs consistantly since 1991 and have had KD passes for all but a year or two in over 20 years. I always felt like I neededto keep my head on a swivel at KD...I never felt completely safe there. BGW on the other hand I always felt like I could let my wife and when he was very young my son roam around while I rode rides and never felt like they were not completely safe. Thats not that way at BGW anymore....in fact honestly at this time I feel more safe at KD.

honestly people seem to think kd is still super "unsafe" and i dont see why. the park has honestly improved loads and now feels like a way better experience. also, how many fights have been reported this year at kd compared to bgw?

I get there have been a couple instances of some roughness between two groups of rowdy guests, but I feel like people are way overstating the issue here. Sure, a couple fights is not a good thing. But suddenly the park is unsafe? Suddenly the park is on the same tier as SFA?

I am not saying that fights aren't a big deal, but they aren't the end of the world. Do they need to stop? Yes. Am I going to stop going to the park because of what (I think) has been 3 incidents this year? No. I believe all of the fights have been between groups of guests that are distasteful. It is not like people are walking up to innocent families and just beating up toddlers. I feel 100% safe in this park at all times because I conduct myself in a manner that would not see myself placed in a situation of confrontation with other guests. In the case of SFA, I genuinely feel as safe as I do roaming the streets of Baltimore. The comparison is not just unfair, it is insane.

I know we all have high expectations for this park and it falling short in any capacity feels like the end of the world to us, but it is good every once in a while to step back and think if this really is of the same magnitude as Y2K or if we are just personally hurt that the park could stoop this far.

Honestly curious - without each park required to publicly report fights with maybe exception to anything that results in injuries (which even then would be injury reports and would be subject to how each park words the cause of injury), what's the industry average per regular peak operating season of guests fighting within a given park?

saw em too
Just one word on this that appears to be one of the normal staging areas for police working the park. They normally have several cars parked there likely more this week since they announced increase presence at the park. I am not sure exactly what BGW/JCCPD policy on arrest is but if they transport immediately that likely means someone was dispatched to pick up and arrest as soon as it happened so that number of cars might not be as bad as it appears,

I think that BGW is probably more likely to take action to address the problem, if videos of every incident start showing up. Right now there isn’t a lot of evidence from most of the fights, so they can more easily ignore the problem.

another day, another fight. via cornperson12398 on instagram.
With every video like this, my sadness for my home park increases. Is it time for an open letter to park heads from us? What can we do?

The joy of visiting a park where people's pent-up Covid rage gets to be on full display without consequence drains from me very quickly, especially for those of us who live 3 hours away. I lament the day I hear of a knife or gun involved.

Where is the management of this park? What are they waiting for?

I don't that it's fair to say that they are ignoring the problem. A friend who is a long time JCCPD officer has confirmed that the park had brought in more off duty officer before the the first week of Haloscream and brought in even more this week. The park pays the county big bucks to cover the OT for those officers so what else would you except them to do?
