Facial recognition software is way better at this than humans trying to look at photos. Considering the entrance/exit is funneled through one spot it wouldn’t be hard to get a look at everyone.
They were stationed in the narrow part of the path right after the bar and before you enter Scotland. They had officers on both sides and definitely were looking for someone. The location is actually a good thing for that.

we are to assume it was a quiet night then and this topic is mainly an overreaction to an aberration in our Facebook news feed?
Fridays have been on the calmer side it's has been Saturdays that have been crazy. Busch changed a lot in how they handle events and in their security foot print I do not think it's fair to say that if the rest of the season is calm that we were over reacting to the events that unfolded earlier in the season. To be bluntly clear if some of the things I have heard from employees that I don't think are fibbing then the situation was even worse then many know and could have potentially been astronomically bad but for some good luck.

The fights we have been seeing (and there are also some that we have been told were not filmed) are NOT normal occurrences at BGW. Disgust at that level of violence, in my opinion, would be completely justified even if it did happen regularly. But it simply does not, and no amount of sneering can change that observable fact.

Additionally, for me, in particular, there is no universe in which I would get any news from Facebook. Social media is for sharing carefully (and cynically) curated moments-in-time from your not really all that exciting life, not “learning” about anything that is actually happening anywhere.

How about a different theory? BG's problem of late is that they're attracting too many teenagers with fun cards whose parents drop them off. That was the fight I saw on Alpengeist a few months ago. One of the reasons Six Flags parks see a lot of fights is because season passes are relatively cheap, there's a lot of big coasters and carnival games, and parents dump their kids there in the summer (we had season passes to Six Flags over Texas when I was in junior high, and we got dropped off there regularly). So you've got kids who by the end of the day are out of money, bored, overheated, young, and possessing poor impulse control. So you get fights.
Busch Gardens used to attract lots of families, as well as adults without kids who wanted to enjoy the park and drink. But their decisions of late have pushed those populations away to some degree.

Was talking with one of my neighbors who teaches high school here in JCC. He told me he was quitting at the end of this school year. He said the level of violence in the schools is at a point where he fears for his health now. It has become a regular thing to break up fights and suspend students. You have to figure some of the problems may be carry-over from the schools here.

Ive heard some things that if true go well beyond the park and beyone just guests. Security hopfully has been stepped up both on and off stage and for all points off access to the park.

Sounds like you may very well have heard the same stuff I did. Metal detectors and additional employee screenings apparently popped up right away

I’d argue it’s the new normal. There are plenty of examples of people being angry for no apparent reason. I think that part of it was the pandemic isolation and people forgetting a little how to deal with other people (not making a stupid political statement here, just saying it’s pretty clear that the violence at Busch gardens isn’t isolated to Busch gardens)…

I saw two guys fighting at Christmastown once because one of the guys thought the other one was trying to steal his stroller.

Universal seems to do well with HHN...
I agree, and their crowd is heavily intoxicated. While there are drunk people at BGW I would say HHN they are way drunker.....I mean we pregamed heavily in the room and then stop at Fat Tuesdays before doing Stay and Scream in Moes Tavern.....yea I dont remember much of 2 of the 3 nights so far at the event this year.

Universal is sorta known for their large, competent security force, yeah? They have long had one of the most sophisticated bag check setups, they invest heavily in house ops, they have a bunch of plain clothes security integrated into crowds, etc.

BGW should definitely be taking notes, but it doesn't seem at all surprising to me that Uni, despite being a lot drunker, is also less rowdy. They're sorta the benchmark.

JCCPD just put out a press release that said they had identified the 3 females form the Griffon fight. They are all from North Carolina. 2 from Chandler, NC and one from New Bern, NC. Kind of shoots the theory about being locals doing the fighting. All are charged with felonies and have not been arrested.

Sounds like something in kindergarten to the kid having a bad day “I charge you with having a Bad time”
