This may or may not be true….but I thought someone mentioned at one time in a thread that the park only had a ABC license for beer and premixed drinks?
I think that person was me, at least one of the times that's come up.

I was proven wrong then, but just to be sure, look their ABC license up:

Unless I'm misreading, mixed beverage plus beer and wine are all permitted within park boundaries per their license

Honestly I don’t get it, we have Grogans and we have a German Beer Hall that was awesome back in the day when Bob walked around and sang his shows as we drank…..but they ruined that when they took out the old stage. Anyhow it was great! They also created Brauhaus which again was great and felt like a secret club. But again that’s all lost it’s luster. Do we really need another bar in the park? I understand it’s what makes huge profits but not everyone goes to BGW to drink, let’s have some special
spots for other food and drink options or just open the ones they already have but don’t use.
Even if this is a true “bar” I just can’t see BGw using top shelf liquors and quality ingredients to craft a delicious cocktail that would interest me. Would I absolutely love to see something like LaCava at Epcot…..yes, but I just can’t see BGW pulling it off.

Given last year's trend of Busch Brawls, a full bar sounds like a flirtation with disaster.

Having said that, I can't wait for it to open.
Counter point to that. A full service bar with a professional bartender replaces a makeshift drink stand or two. The bartender if experienced will likely be better at spotting who to refuse service to and possibly be better at ID checks though BGW actually is pretty good at those in my experience. This might reduce some of the problems.

Your expecting a lot for $5 a hour plus tips in a park that does not currently have tipped positions.

Considering a lot of bartenders get $2.15/hour and crap tips anyways at most bars….
But a bunch of crap tips still add up then add in a few that do tip generously and a guaranteed number of hours for that day that’s a decent wage.At BGW a $5 per hour rate and no tips won’t do well…..nor will shitty work conditions or hours. I don’t see anyone putting up with $5 then getting g to the park when it’s dead slow only to be sent home early with todays gas prices.
With all that said would I love to be able to have a somewhat full bar where someone crafts a nice cocktail right in front of me…..yes!

Edited to add…..I can also see a issue where people eventually learn that’s a place that expects tips then you have say the pop up bars at HOS…..what happens when those people get paid a nice wage and then start getting tips on top
of that?

Might be different but SWO Bartenders make bank. Percentage tips on $13 beers goes far.

They covered the crack because of photos like the one posted here of a off stage area.

Anyhow, they expect a flair bartender for $5/hour with BGWs super variable crowds? Im sure the most talented bartenders are lining up to add BGW to their portfolio.

This is interesting
Hmm… I don’t know about having a loud juggling German actor in my face when I’m trying to enjoy an old fashioned.

I’m imagining the squeaking voice from the verbolten station, but with bowling pins and something resembling a mix of stylized German clothing and a clown suite. It short, my worst nightmare.

I would definitely love them making this a bit more exciting with a showy bartender. I most likely will be enjoying a German pint or something but when with my significant other who adores a nice mixed drink, this could definitely be a fun and awesome experience geared more towards park regulars. Super excited to see how the execution goes, and hope it does well financially so they get the hint that quality yields dollars.
