A graphic has been made listing all of the biers that will be on tap at the event:
According to the graphic there will be a total of 38 different types of biers on tap.
Also a "Bier fest sampler w/ or w/o souvenir mug" has been added to the site. It's 10, 3 oz samplings of the biers that you select for $19.99 without the mug and $29.99 with the souvenir mug. More information on this offer can be found in the "more info" section of the event site. It's available for purchase online or at the event.
As a beer snob, I will admit it isn't a bad list of beers and I'm glad they only have a handful of IPAs. They also have about 6 VA breweries (and cidery) which is good. It makes me sad to see Bud Light so prominently listed on the list, but it is BUSCH Gardens so I'll deal.
Im not a beer person. Never really have been but i could see myself going with my husband(the beer buff out of the two of us) He is way more interested in the local brews but i would be willing to try a few. I am glad this seems to have a positive outlook.
It's not on the list, but I'm still hoping Bold Rock's new IPA (India Pressed Apple) is there. Tried that one at KD's BBQ and Brews event, and it was awesome!
The event was very crowded all day, very popular indeed. Food is good and the band playing outside is wonderful. I hope it gets extended next season, hopefully to cover all of September.
I'm thinking a BEIR fest should replace SSN for the entire summer. San Marco gets left alone and Oktoberfest has lots of beer all summer, as it should.
Bier fest was very crowded today. This seems to be the best planned event at the park in a long time. It's a great value and I think it's going to be a big money maker. The time of year is perfect too. Drinking craft beer is best in cooler weather, not July in Virginia!
