So. I think everyone knows how passionate I am personally about the erosion of pass member benefits. That said, please lets all try to stay on topic.

I created a thread for the benefits discussion here. I invite everyone to share their thoughts on this growing issue there.

After further observation, the village stage might also be the stage on above the entrance to the Festhaus. I see they have set up the choral bleachers up there also. So maybe the planter will hold something thematic?

Busch Gardens® Bier Fest kicks off daily with a traditional Tapping of the Keg Ceremony at 11:30 a.m. in front of Das Festhaus®. Join us as the Bürgermeister taps a unique keg, featuring bier from a local Virginia micro-brewery. Beer from the firkin kegs will have limited-availability and must be purchased. Be sure to come early.

From pork schnitzel skewers to bratwurst sandwiches, enjoy authentic German food paired with your favorite Oktoberfest biers. Bier Fest is not complete without our homemade pretzels. If you are on the go, grab a turkey leg or a pretzel nugget necklace and taste the variety biers with a delicious snack.
I guess they heard me. For years I've wanted an Oktoberfest event in Germany in September and it looks like it's finally happening. Good Job Busch.

I have to say, this seems to be turning out to be a nice little event. Although I won't be participating in the alcohol portion of it, I think that it is still good that the park is bringing in local Brewers and beer. I, personally, am very interested in the culinary creations, the pretzel nugget necklace definitely seems like something I would enjoy. :)

I love the pretzel nuggets, but I wouldn't want to carry anything greasy on my neck or shirt. Authentic German food is like a flip of the coin with BG.

Also, I can't believe they used the term "Bürgermeister". They said there was only one Bürgermeister at Busch Gardens. Besides, most German towns have the keg tapping done by the local Bishop. The idea is for him to give his blessing on the beer and fellowship.

Didn't BGW have some kind of church service during HOS last year?

Edit: Found it! There was a Catholic Mass in the Fiends theater last HOS!

Regarding the pretzel nugget necklaces, I'm sure I'll be too busy eating it before I even get a chance to put it around my neck. Now, if only the necklaces were coming with a wearable form of cheese dip. :p

I think this will be good for the park, connecting with local breweries. When you make connections to the local area its often beneficial on both ends. I just really hope the bartending staff has the proper training needed to keep people safe

Here is Busch Dominion's post to Facebook featuring some of the progress that has been made for the Bier Fest:

The village stage seems to be being setup in the Bier Garten beside Der Wirbelwind, along with a lot of barrels(some being re-used from the F&WF) with garland on top scattered around the hamlet. Here are some larger photos of these things:
