More trees are being removed near the Festa Train Station and Lil Clydesdales.

The train station seems like it will be more heavily affected. Only one stump is being removed in Heatherdowns, which most likely means the tree has already been cut down. More than one stump is being removed from the Festa Train Station area so the trees have most likely already been cut down, this is just finishing the job.

BGW really has quite a lot of fences and I have to say you really don't notice them all that much. They are all painted brown and I really forget they are there at all.

BG Cabana released some kind of video that shows the preseason stuff but the camera is awfully shaky. So far I still see a good number of trees, but I'm not a landscaping professional to notice the difference. I have some optimism the landscaping department will do whatever they can to remedy the entire issue.

So, not sharing pictures, but right now, it's pretty shocking. Really shocking. Hopefully the landscaping department pulls through- they have been doing a splendid job lately.

Oh my god, I'm really worried now. I'm going Easter weekend. I guess I'll need to prepare myself...

I have been goin to this park since around 1982, and family was there on opening day. Sad to hear they are forced to remove the trees, but it sounds like they knew this day would happen and hopefully have a contingency plan in place. Bushes, evergreen trees, or fencing would be good options.

The park just posted a public blog about the colonial pipeline clearing, here.

It seems the park has been restricted from growing anything over a certain height in the area which is extremely devastating, and means there will only be so much they can do and/or plant.

On the other hand, it's always nice to see the park being more straight-forward and announcing this sort of thing.

It seems that the park is being forced to comply with regulations laid out in BGWFans' article.

This is hardly new.  Nicole wrote a whole article on this very topic.

I was stating the planting restrictions, I may have missed something, but I don't believe it being said in Nicole's post that there was a height restriction on what the park could grow over the area. I also remember Nicole wondering what rules had changed for this greenery removal to occur now, and I thought this may be a possible explanation.

I did not mean any disrespect toward Nicole.

I don't actually see in his post where Dan addresses WHY they had to comply now. He merely reiterates THAT they have to comply now, which we already knew.

I'm referring to the part where he states that all the plants being planted are not going to exceed a height of 4 feet. It's more of an inductive conclusion, but I do think new height restrictions are a possible reason why this all may have happened now and not before.

Dan's post never says this s a new restriction. In fact, the Colonial Pipeline site I linked specifically says that trees are too tall, and ground cover cannot impede aerial surveillance.

The question is about the timing, not the action, itself. Why is the existing rule bring enforced now?

My personal opinion is that the pipeline could be a target and we are seeing heightened security measures across the theme park industry.

Wow that is quite a drastic change! But I have faith that the landscaping department will do something about it that it will be barely noticeable.

You now I'll get flak for this but I'm going to be the one to say this and satisfy all the nuts out there. I'm gonna go conspiracy and say that the rule was always in force, but wasn't carried out due to back room deals and such.

Enforcing right of way for the pipeline is probably a very time consuming thing. The pipeline is probably close to a thousand miles total. If you go to their website it's quite impressive. I'm sure every year they focus on areas that need to be cleared.

Here are some of the photos I took of the pipeline work-
