Rode this yesterday. We didn't have any technical issues other than sometimes being out of focus. The ride is decent but I'm a bit unimpressed... The technology just isn't there resolution wise and you're looking through a screen door. When they 4k goggles out then maybe I'll be impressed.

Also when you sit down it his telling you not to put on the headset but some time could have been saved by not doing that as everyone already had the plastic helmets on and the seatbelt doesn't take that long for everyone to do
When you see commercials and ads for VR headsets, they always make the resolution look miles better than what it actually is. For first time VR users, the low resolution might come as a surprise but the truth of the matter is that HTC vive (the headsets bgw use) are top of the line. 4k VR isn't possible yet.

Decided to ride this again, to see if the new headsets fit better, and nope, I'm still in the same boat. The moment I put on the headset with the purple mask, it immediately sank on my face and I had to hold the headset. And the red masks seemed way too tight for me.

I ended up having to take of the headset and mask. And when I did I watch the people around me (some people were very into the ride) but the little boy in front of me like actually turned around to look and got very excited about what he saw, and said so to his mom and his mom (who had taken off her mask) told him to face forward and don't turn around again. Which is like??? The point of VR is to look around.

Also the desperately need signs up on the mask wagons with what sizes they are and if they are with or without glasses. I saw several people with visibly the wrong size mask on.

Took my dad on the ride today and he really liked and so did I. Still a very enjoyable ride that still got a positive reception from people who were on it.

EDIT: To me the new purple strap was much better than the regular one so that was good.

Rode this again on Saturday and for some reason it was significantly more fun that last year. I still don't think it is a great ride but it felt like maybe they tweaked some effects to make it a little more immersive. Has anyone else noticed this?

They line was also very long. We were with some friends who were visiting the part for the first time, and I assume most of the people in line were probably riding for the first time.

I rode it again this week and I still think it’s a great ride. You guys can fight me on this, but it’s a truly one of a kind experience. I think the park balanced a perfect application of technology with that coveted, mystic “Old Country” theming beautifully.

I like how that post is a good possible answer to the circumstance.

I love how that post is an amazing backhanded roast to the ride.

What!?!?!? That's gotta be a 2 hour line. Its usually at least 45 minutes when you can't see the line and walk halfway to the emerald mask rack..

That was actually "off season" back in early May during cool weather. I just saw it again and had my mind blown - again. I must hide this photo so that it will no longer be able to torment me with it's evilness.

I can not imagine waiting 10 minutes for that piece of crap, but 4 hours? I would rather gouge my eye out with a lit cigarette.

<edit> That should have read "2 hours" not "4 hours"
