@Suka Vayne- Wait a second. 0_0 BGT is far from shunned, my friend. I believe this Timbuktu change is coming for the better. On the other hand, it sounds like BGW is screwed with the bozo Scott G and his ugly plans. While change is preferred, SG takes it to a whole different level that people hate. So yea.... BGT is fine. Except for several ride and food closures! -_-

Yeah that's what I meant BGT is shunning the SG concepts, the ride closures happen periodically, when I worked at BGT even with ride closures posted, and still complain. However some new theme retheme is coming sorta with closing of RR

While I have remained cautiously optimistic about certain changes the park has made, this one is a bit too much to handle. I see no way the park can convincingly pull off a retheme of BC without major rennovations to the buildings. The architecture just doesn't allow it, unless they are planning on erecting facades over top of the existing structures similar to the Ripper Street theme for HOS. Whether by paint or facade this will (as mentioned before) ruin the flow of theming for the park.

Don't get me wrong, I am looking forward to an actual live action show returning to the Globe, but changing the entire hamlet theme for a show is too much to swallow. The picture of looking down the Main Street with Big Ben in the back is as iconic as Nessie is or as the burgermeister used to be. It adds to the heart of BGW and that heart is being slowly ripped out.

Also with this being HOS season, how do they expect to theme it for future years. Victorian era/ gothic horror England is perfect for HOS. They could even make a Fleet Street theme and sell "meat" pies at Squire's. How will that be able to continue with the retheme?

Look at the park through my kids' eyes and everything is fine. I love seeing their faces light up when we tell them where we are going. They love absolutely everything about the park. However it is bittersweet for me knowing that the park I grew up with is no more. I can only hope that whatever happens with the theming, whenever the park hits that cliff that we all see coming, someone will make major departmental and managerial changes before reaching the point of no return.

I've always thought that Banbury and the entrance was rather dull. I mean I fly by it the moment I get in the park. Unless you need to hit the bathroom, grab a funnel cake or buy a cheesy gift, it leaves quite a bit to be desired.

If they can do something to throw some life into this area, maybe it won't be too bad? It would be nice if this area came alive with 60's music in the evenings, much like they do with Ireland in the evenings during HOS.

I think a re-work can be done right, as long as they don't screw it up :s

In case anyone has been worried about this, I've devised a way for Ripper Row to return next year, with a few tweaks:

"Crazy fans hunt furiously among the crowds in search of the one who broke up the Beatles, nabbing anyone who looks at all suspicious. Keep your head down and your ears plugged or you might not make it out with any dignity."

Well, at least I thought it was funny! Even though I'm way too young to know--or care--that much about the Beatles.

Just to keep something in mind. We are getting all information from two sentences in a press release, a quote from a man we all know over exaggerates, and "inside sources".

I am not saying those "inside sources" are not legit. I am saying, there was no big major press release or announcement about anything just two sentences and a quote from someone who over exaggerates. I have faith that these changes are not going to be eternal damnation for the hamlet.

All I am saying in the end is; Is it really necessary to go all out and blow up something with little to no in your face hard hitting facts or proof? Just "sources"? Give me some more proof this thing will turn out to be a big mess, or at least give me some more proof that the park is doing something serious. Because to sentences and a quote from a man you over exaggerates is not enough for me to put full faith into.

So, I have been thinking a lot about this point. Who is the target audience of this re-theme? What demographic sector does the park hope to capture? I ask because I had not observed that the Beatles are a big draw for most people under the age of 30, maybe older.

Don't worry Nic, the park has Killarney Kommotion for anyone under that age demographic.

Except I can guarantee everyone my age would just agree that to be... stupid. Nobody wants to waste roller coaster-riding time "watching" something they could just listen to on their iPod later.

Honestly, this is the whole dilemma I'm seeing with this London theming. Anyone my age (teens) or younger is way to young to care about the genre of the area, or they're old enough to appreciate the class the area is supposed to have. I have talked to people who, yes, are in middle school, and even they think this is stupid. Look, Busch Gardens is known for its class. Even younger people comprehend and appreciate this. What this means is Scott thinks the public has the mentallity of a four-year-old you likes the big, new stimuli.

All of this frustration coming from a generation who has no idea they are a clone (music, fashion, and culture) of the 1980's.

I wasn't alive when the Beatles were around, but I appreciate their influence on the music industry.

Despite my love for the Beatles and British pop, I would have to argue that changing an entire Hamlet to reflect that is terrifying.

Too much time and effort went into making the "Old Country" to just toss it away.

Hopefully, whatever changes are "tastefully" done.

We shall see.

Hmmm...maybe then they could at least sell Doctor Who merchandise as it is very 60's! Sorry, big time whovian, and I would love just a photo op with the TARDIS, maybe a character or two. Especially on the anniversaries in the future!

I'm sure if you surf around this thread and forum a bit you will find several of us who have made similar suggestions.
