Keep in mind the actual outside stucco type material needs to dry and harden completely. It only looks grey because it is still damp. Once it dries, I am sure painting can proceed and it will blend in with the other buildings.

also the wood fence has been taken out and a chain link wrapped with red mesh has been put in its place
Sounds disgusting. Nauseating in fact.

I am assuming since a lot of the outside work is mostly done, they figure they can remove the more permanent fence. A chain link fence is much quicker and temporary meaning work must be getting close to opening.

I actually like the look of the building so far. I was really afraid when construction on the building first started.

More Photos tonight and tomorrow. These ones were taken right in the middle of painting. Towards the end of the day it has appeared that the outside seems to be just about finished with the exception of the concrete work around the building. Also I can confirm it will have a brick base and the building does follow the same architecture as all other buildings in Banbury Cross. Also as a side note, once Union Snacks is opened, construction on the London Bus merchandise stand will begin along with the conversion of the Globe Snack Stand into a ticket booth. And finally do note, cables are being placed throughout England and I can only assume they are going to be used for many Union Jacks hanging all around. Everything is coming together rather quick now.

The windows aren't that modern. In fact they follow the same design as most of the other windows. They are brand new so they are going to look modern. Let them age a bit.

Windows don't really "age." The colored patches in the windows, aren't really the same as the other windows. The other windows are made fully out of colored patches, and regular glass, they aren't the same.

Over time windows do warp due to gravity having a constant pull. This is why many old windows are thicker on the bottom and thinner on top. Also windows can get stained or dirty and may not be washed frequently and that build up helps the window to look older.

Also display window like the ones at the candy shop next door look exactly the same except the windows at Union Snacks have ripples in them.

Finally these are windows, they fit in quite well and do not change any of the surrounding area.

Perhaps I was wrong again. I dunno, it struck me as a more modern looking window. I'll give it some time to be completed.

The bus has already been built off site.... the "construction" you mention will be securing it to the wall and concrete when it arrives.. Is everyone excited to see the union jacks flying in the air till august?
