How cool would a new B&M surf coaster be if they actually have a unique train/restraint design? It’d be a nicer family coaster back there to compliment the intamin spire.
Still want to see a super-themed vekoma madhouse back there though. Could have some serious Howloscream vibes and cool lore for being in the Black Forest. Thinking of verboltens evil plants and what not. I’ve always wanted to see an evil landscaping project come to think of it. An evil tree here, evil tree there… maybe have a big mean ass thorn bush back there? Or fake vine work like on splash mountain back there. Oh how I love plants.
If this does turn out to be a balloon survey for vertical construction, could it be anything other than an attraction? Are balloon surveys usually used for a certain type of project? Sorry if this a repeated question, my love of plants makes me forgetful on a Friday night.
Edit: whoops found the answer in Zach’s article here “First, we have to always consider that a height survey could be conducted for some non-ride purpose. In all of my years covering these balloons, I’ve always cautioned readers to keep this possibility in mind. That said, as far as I remember, each balloon we’ve reported on has ended up being related to a new attraction plan at some point down the line. Does that mean everyballoon will always be attraction related? Certainly not. That said, I’ve learned to take these height surveys pretty seriously over the years”

Fwiw the clamshell restraints can be modified for inversions. We'll have to wait to see what a surf coaster is it the first place though
Would definitely like a NON-B&M ride or Intamin for varieties sake.
I mean, the park hasn't added a B&M in 15 years, all of them currently aging, so It wouldn't be a bad thing. I doubt one will get added here, as B&M rides aren't usually that compact and they may have a hard time fitting one of their rides with drachen spire in that lot.
Not sure it has been addressed here, but what about a single rail RMC back there? While I still want a RMC hybrid back there, the single rails have a pretty compact footprint compared to B&M's, and they are getting taller, with Magic Mountain's coming in at 130 feet.
I think a raptor would look so cool back there. I’ve never ridden one though I imagine it’s a bit like tempesto?
I have ridden the one at Fiesta Texas a couple times. Not similar to Tempesto at all, as it isn't a launch, it has many more twists and turns, and it lacks comfort collars.
How do the harnesses compare between Twisted Timbers and something like the comfort collar? More uncomfortable on the thighs than shoulders? I’m hoping to ride up to GreatAdv for the first time this summer to check it out myself
I visited Great Adventure for the first time myself a couple weeks ago. After having ridden Twisted Timbers, Steel Vengeance, Lightning Rod, and hearing so many good things about these single rail RMC's I was really, REALLY looking forward to Jersey Devil.
My experience may have been muddied by the several jackasses in line and the lengthy wait but I was not impressed with it at all. The ride was down half the day. Something was going on with block brakes. Once it finally did open, they ran two trains running at 12 per train capacity just absolutely crawled. The harnesses, in my opinion, were painful. Airtime was good but not enjoyable because of the uncomfortable harness. The trains are interesting and definitely unique and fairly comfortable to simply sit in, but on the ride, I was all hitting my neck on the over the shoulder straps and slipping out of them, having to readjust myself. In no way I felt unsafe, but it just seemed absolutely pointless to have the collars, probably more so then Tempesto. I would not like a single rail RMC at Busch Gardens unless it was a TREX. If a Raptor was back in Festhaus Park, I would simply avoid it.
This may be an industry wide hot take but RMCs are overrated.

15 years time or not there is still 3 of them and will be 3 Intamins. I know B&Ms are reliable but I would prefer to see variety from other companies. Also aside from the new surf coaster (which all signs point to just being a new gen standing coaster. yuck) B&M hasn't done anything new or innovating in a long time.
Based on the surf coaster patents its just a sit down train similar to the Intamin LSM coaster with a new lap bar and some sort of suspension for the seat which will improve ride smoothness. BGW also has the perfect gap for several B&M models. personally I think a flying coaster would be the perfect fit. We could also beat KD by adding a wing coaster.
I think my larger point is that in those 15 years, we have seen 2 Zierrer's, a Premier, a GCI, and an Intamin. 10 uears ago, i would have agreed with you, but at that point, they had 18 years of adding only Arrow major coasters (1978-1996), then 11 years of only B&M (1997-2008). 3 years from now we probably will have 2 more Intamin, but aside from RMC and S&S/Sansei, what other major ride manufactuer have we not seen at the park? Vekoma? Do we really want one of those? And just because B&M hasn't really come out with new styles of coasters, doesn't mean BGW has them. Busch has 2 of their most popular models and a decent (but far from their best) of another. I personally would love to see a wing coaster go in. I know it may feel like just riding griffon on the outside seats, but to the GP (who thinks Pantheon is just like Tempesto bc it goes back and forth) they would probably think it was somewhat of a new experience.
I would love one of the new S&S HyperCoasters like Steel Curtain. Pretty compact , the aesthectics of the support system are pretty damn cool , its a lift hill and the hyper-twister style would be a good foil to Apollo's airtime.
Supposedly what I heard a lot of the downtime last year was due to issues with the seatbelts. And yeah so what? BGW has 5 inverting coasters and with DarKoaster and Drachenspire 5 non inverting ones.
Growing up around Kennywood and then working there for a summer. I can't disagree more about the aesthetics of that ride. That thing is such an eye sore. It is possible it's just the nostalgic side of me talking though.
The first loop off the hill is very reminiscent of drachen fire's first loop.
