Wouldn’t be nice if the theme park spent some money on something besides another coaster? The last I checked, they are supposed to offer a variety of themed attractions, since they aren’t an amusement park.
I mean we had Verbolten, Invadr, and Pantheon. We also had Tempesto, BFE, and Finnigan so it's been a 50/50 split recently.

In my book the parks lineup critically lacks a dark ride which since DarKastle has been gone has felt pretty big. That said there are going to be 3 attractions utilizing dark ride elements once DarKoaster opens. I definitely prefer a traditional dark ride go in. I mean surely Sally can create a drunk Irish shooting ride.

Agreed. I'd love to see some more investment in keeping the place differentiated from the amusement park vibe. Although I still want all the coasters.

The weird thing about the balloon @Zachary posted is that it's about the spot where the top of the lift for Drachen Fire used to be on the South side of the maintenance building. If I had to guess it looks about 150 feet up too... Probably a coincidence though...

Oh wow, this is a SUPER interesting point.

If the park was planning to apply for another height waiver for a structure similar to Drachen Fire (read: not a spike), I could see it being useful to include Drachen Fire's height balloon to show that the visual impacts would be similar to a previously-approved variance...

But you don't even notice the lack of theming when you're being amused.

Valid, but I might notice the lack of dark rides, the dearth of flats, the reduction in animal experiences, the uninspired landscaping, the plummeting food quality, and the generic merchandise.

I said “theme park,” not “amusement park.” The only attraction you listed that might not be found at a Six Flags has already closed. A theme park needs a lot more than a ton of rides targeted at 15 year old boys.

Drachen Fire 2: Electric Boogaloo?

I would absolutely shit my pants if they got someone like Mack, Intamin or S&S to re-imagine Drachen Fire(layout over 50% the same) with modern precision manufacturing.

Also : if this is for another coaster or large flat that would be in addition to Drachen Spire would this basically necessitate a new themed area?

I'm sure at some point SEAS is going to have to scale back this wild capital investment strategy. I mean 4 new roller coasters in a row is pretty insane. I remember going for the first time in 1999 as a 7 year old and it was just Ness, Wolf, Alp, and Apollos opening year. By 2025 I mean we're at 11 adult coasters in the park and it will almost match KDs coaster total and have the same amount of "adult" coasters as KD currently does. If I had to hope one thing about Project 2025, is that it has a lift hill because 6 launch coasters is slightly overkill honestly. Now if it's like a super Pantheon I have limited complaints but still.

From an accountant standpoint I don't quite see how this would sustain material attendance boosts buying that many new coasters that close to each other for it to pay off how they want it to considering the huge investments they are making. 2-3 I can see they're being aggressive 4 in a row does make me start asking more questions.........or I mean "making more inquiries."
we are also going to run out of space if SEAS keeps going at this pace

They'll call it, "A Green Field in Germany with Unthemed Coasters in it." Jokes aside, I'm hoping for a GCI or an Intamin Megacoaster, and the latter seems more likely given the path BGW is on right now. Might as well get every Intamin Coaster model.
Plus we already have a GCI plus not one, but 3 woodies an hour away.

This is about right. My daughter who rode Mach Tower before they took the balloons down said the higher balloon was taller than she was.
To answer @CoasterAuditor and others I have a rough estimate of the height of the higher of the two balloons.

I first alerted @Zachary to the survey on my drive to the park when I saw the balloon from next to the shell station.

Visually, it appeared roughly equal in height to the top of Griffin from there. So, I did some trigonometry using maps to figure out the distances to griffin and the approx fhp location. I even used a GIS map to factor in elevation.

The shell station is at about 103 ft, Griffin at 87, and fhp 83.

Here's my drawing that I used for the trig:

260 ft adding in the elevation.

Then I looked closer at the picture and decided it was slightly above Griffin, so I punched in a slightly larger estimate and got an upper bound of 275 feet.

And then I was reminded we had another data point:

This calculation was within the same range as my other maths. So I can confidently say that when I took the photo the balloon was between 265/275 ft.

That said; as @Zachary pointed out there is a potential wind factor and I also have no clue if they were actively raising the balloon at the time.

I took some additional photos that didn't make the article that I can also share later. I took a lot for triangulation purposes.

Are any of the old footers still left from Drachenfire?

Given that Arrow didn't do a great job trying to replicate a B&M support design for DF, I'd be surprised if the footers could be reused without heavy modifications.

Though, now that I'm thinking about it - thematically, a legend reborn... Or rediscovered.

Just one thought and someone can correct me if I am wrong but didn't BGW do a fair amount out regading back there around the time of Invadr's construction. If so I think that the landscape may have changed enough to make a reproduction of DF unlikely.

Anything's possible if their pockets are deep enough.

To my understanding, DF's issues were based on both Arrow's limited technical prowess in element design and transitions (hand-bent vs computer designed and machined) and attempting to use a support design that was out of their wheelhouse - both in an attempt to basically re-create Kumba.

So if they got a modern manufacturer to try a take at it, I'd guess there'd be modifications to the design and manufacturing enough that it'd be a successful ride.

Or maybe the rumors about Kumba are somewhat true, and it's getting refurbished and shipped to Virginia?
