I was at the park on the 26th, and Apollo's Chariot was shut down for 30-45 minutes. I noticed that there seemed to be a lot of horizontal rigidity when the train stopped in the station. Later, after reading some computer logs, the maintenance team ran straight to the transfer track. They seemed to spot the issue immediately. They started working around one of the drive wheels.

I don't know if it was a mechanical or sensor issue. Maybe someone can give their best guess with this attached photo.

You want to see rattling, ride Anaconda. A rattle on a B&M is like it hit a gnat in comparison to a rattle on an Arrow (Loch Ness not included).

Not to derail conversation further, but Anaconda is pleasant compared to many out of state coasters.

Anyway, lets return discussion to Apollo, the rapiest coaster.

Having been on Mako now, I still think Apollo's Chariot has a few edges for the ride itself. Apollo's Chariot feels more graceful and light, in my opinion. I also love the setting of AC with the trees.

Mako was fantastic with its ejector air-time, but I think the abrupt MCBR ruined the flow. One of the most unique elements reminded me of Anaconda, because it should have sped through; instead, it just crawled.

The MCBR on Apollo's Chariot doesn't bother me so much. At least it's followed by an unexpectedly long drop. Most other hypers don't have the luxury of terrain, so they just keep slowing down after the first drop.

Tl/dr: I still love Apollo's Chariot just as much as before I rode Mako.

Mako has one moment of ejector air at the top of the first camelback. Could be more if the thing wasn't trimmed so hard...

I think Apollo, like Nessie before found some magical formula that just works. Not the fastest or tallest, but always the best.

Nessie, of course is better.

Is it me or is there more braking than before? Also AC needs a paint job. I'm seeing rust everywhere. :(

Always my favorite. I still have the Cast Night shirt from the first year it opened. We had a great group of people as the operators and we are still in contact with each other too!
