I noticed that this year as well. Possibly to reduce train stress and wheel wearing? Even marginally slowing down a train reduces costs greatly. Wheels are expensive.

Some on-ride shots of Apollo I took with a go pro mounted to a chest harness.

Those are some awesome shots

Just curious, how do you go about getting permission to bring a camera onto a ride? Not that I necessarily want to but can anyone just ask?
Here is the official statement from the park.

Must be secured by a 3 point or more harness, over the riders shoulders and around the torso, that is snapped or buckled closed and cannot be detached by bumping.
The camera must be inside a case that snaps closed tightly and the case is securely attached to the harness with a screw type pen or similar device. Similarly, if the camera alone can be directly and securely attached to the harness with a screw type pen or similar device.
A Park Operations Manager must approve of the device before it is used.
I used a go pro hero 3+ silver edition with a chesty (chest mount). The camera was checked at guest relations in England. You can also use a go pro "frame" mount.

If you use them on ride Escape from Pompeii like I did recently, ask the attendant to notify the people in the show building. Otherwise, your ride may be inadvertently interrupted. On roller coasters this doesn't seem to be an issue.

Is that due to the loose articles policy being enforced by ppl in the show building?

With all the trains AC can run at one time, it's no surprise it's the most ridden. It's probably got the most capacity in the park. I could be wrong on that, but it seemed like there was never a non walk-on when we were there, albeit the fact we were there in October. That said, it's a fun and amazing ride. I love the flat top drop hill at the beginning.

Apollo is absolutely my favorite ride on the park, although Nessie has the best drop in my opinion. That said, he is a bit rapey; I always seem to need to grab my shirt to keep it down. I suppose that is just good theming...Greek gods and all.

Apollo is my favorite in the park. Front seat Alpie is my 2nd. Backseat Nessie 3rd. (Griffon would be in the top 3 for me if it was just longer. I prefer longer 'adventurous' coasters.)
