According to a mechanic working on Alpengeist, it’s fixed for the most part. They’re just waiting for the chain of command to give it a thumbs up.

I've not seen anything to suggest that this more recent closure is at all related to the footer issue from before.

Unless we hear otherwise, it's likely most reasonable to assume that this recent shutdown is simple routine downtime (the type that would never normally be newsworthy).

Tbh, this ride could use a refurbishment. Imo, it's the roughest coaster in the park. It jerks ya into the cobra roll, there's a very clear rattle to it, it's shaky, and it's a headbanger (it was difficult for me to keep my head back, too).
Then again, I only rode it once, so maybe I just got a bad seat.

People always like to bring up the jerky transitions and say Alpie isn't aging well. Alpie has always run that way :p

I’ve been on some older B&Ms lately (more inverts too); and they are all showing their...ahem....aging.

One of the few that didn’t was Bear. I think the hollow supports help. But it too has sharp transitions.

Imo, the least the park can do for the Alpie is make the OTSR softer and more rubbery, so that the headbanging hurts less.
