RE: New Show for 2016: All For One

I think cosplay effect is a good way to describe most costumes that the park makes. In recent years, costuming hasn't been able to translate fabric from a drawing. Most of them still look great, just not functional as clothing. That said, I didn't see that being so much of an issue in All For One. I think they look great on stage, and I think they need to be a tad bit brighter for being a nighttime show. Keep in mind, costumes glow very differently on stage, especially past the third row. .

What does surprise me however, is that they are letting them roam around in the special harness costumes. I think they should create separate costumes for daylight viewing. It doesn't matter much to me as long as they cover up the harness attachment.

Speaking of the costumes, I wonder if Nicole Wee will soon become the official costume designer for the shows at Busch Gardens due to her work on All For One. I would love that! :D

If you think the costumes in this show are bright, you must not remember much of Kinetix.

Frankly, that was artistic choice.

Yes, with as 80's as that show was, those costumes were fitting.

I think another thing driving the color choice on the costumes is character distinction. Honestly, the costumes may be brighter than what was actually worn at the time, but they are not assault-on-your-eyes level, nor are they as stereotypical as say, Roll Out the Barrel's costumes.

That right there is why I really liked Nicole Wee's work on this show, it actually is the park's first attempt in years to go for something slightly more authentic than Roll Out The Barrel or London Rocks. At least here you can tell the costume differences between Queen Anne, Milady de Winter or the Musketeers and Milady's soldiers.

I loved Queen Anne's royal outfit in the ending that it screamed gorgeous! :D

RE: New Show for 2016: All For One

Pete Dunklee said the costumes were only slightly brighter because they didn't want the characters to be hidden in the already dark and brown looking set. ~ When I happened to stop him in the park and talk to him about the show.

RE: New Show for 2016: All For One

And it worked. The brightness of the costumes does help give a contrast between the set design and the lighting design that the outfits did a great job of not blending in the background and Nicole Wee's bonus was that it didn't have to go over the top (looking at you Roll Out The Barrel) to stand out.

RE: New Show for 2016: All For One

Take a look at this behind the scenes look at the show, interesting stuff here.

There was another video about the stunts but it was cut short and later taken off by the user, I wonder why? Was this just an error on the YT channels part?

RE: New Show for 2016: All For One

I wonder if Phil was starting to talk about something that they didn't want us to hear. He mentioned a change that was made with the characters. I can understand if they were trying cover up the fact that changes were made last minute. That's just a tacky way of doing so, if that was the intention.

RE: New Show for 2016: All For One

Nah, I think it's an error on the YT channel, when it was first posted they called it the "special effects" instead of "stunts". BTW what were the "last minute changes"? Was it during the final fight with Milady De Winter that they slightly changed it?

Apparently this director/writer of the show Tom Vannucci has a rather big resume in the theme park and theater business as shown here, and All For One is his debut in Busch Gardens Williamsburg.

Oh and it was revealed that Phil Raybourn was in charge of the fight choreography on the ground, now all we need is the names of who did the set design and lighting.

I am almost certain that Ken Billington did the lighting design. I'm still not sure about the set designer. I do find it interesting when the park decides to share names.

If it was Ken Billington then talk about a difference between his lighting design in London Rocks 2014 and All For One. I personally prefer the latter because of how subtle and striking it was during some scenes.

And the stunts video is back, it was indeed an audio error that caused it to be taken down before. Now it's fixed.

I wonder if the park will release a video for the "look" of the show (the costumes, lighting, and sets). I hope they will.

WOW! Those new fireworks are gorgeous! Can't wait to see them after August 15th when I'll be able to go to the park. :D

(I guess that means during this weekend, you'll be able to record the full show soon.)

That's what I've been wondering for a while too! Zachary is usually the one who makes the current entertainment threads, but I wonder if he's been busy to do that yet.
