I'm predicting a Zamperla Nebulaz to go where the go-karts were in Old Virginia (maybe call it Virginia Reel?). A flashy flat ride like that will attract people into that area and make Grizzly more accessible. Throw in a couple new rides in the water park and maybe a small Snoopy upgrade, and I think that's all KD will get before the year 2030. Next year's additions (the wing, I-305 retheme, and 50th celebration) will likely be the biggest overall investment KD has received since the park was constructed, so I wouldn't expect anything else major for quite some time.

Virginia Reel Nebulaz... man. Love that idea, though I think a super flashy/lighted version would be best suited for CAG rather than OV. Could definitely make it work though. Placement seems easy enough, directly across from Flying Eagles, would also give enough room for future expansion back in the rest of the go-karts/Dino's area.

Regarding the water park, I didn't realize that there's effectively only two slide complexes and the lazy river on the North side of R75. I would sure like to see that area be reclaimed by the dry park, whether it be a new section of CAG or its own thing. Feels like now (before any more north-side expansion happens) would be the most optimal time to consider fully shifting the waterpark to the South side. Would require a comical amount of related work, but I can dream.

Or, equally as ambitious a concept... truly axe that whole area and bring back the full sized lake.

Forgive me if I’m missing something, but I’m not sure I’m understanding why you think they should do that.
Eh, KD was the only former Paramount park to not get a Vortex or Top Gun (though I remember rumors of a cancelled Top Gun that would have gone near where Twisted Timbers is).

Confused Season 2 GIF by Paramount+

The chain only had 5 parks, they didn't have an established playbook of things every park had to have. If we were to follow that kind of reasoning, CGA should have built a dueling woodie instead of Goldstriker.

Several other parks having Vortexes and Top Guns sounds like a very good reason not to invest in either.

I, personally, want my parks to have unique, theme/area/terrain-appropriate attractions, not cut-and-paste jobs from other places.

All I hear about Nebulaz are that they are nice to look at but aren't that fun to ride. Plus SFA will have one as of later this summer. I am not crazy about this idea. Why not a more unique flat ride?

Cedar Fair (and Six Flags, for that matter) are working a lot with Zamperla. The Nebulaz is one of their tentpole rides. They are a fun rideexperience; mild enough for children, while still being fun for adults. If themed well (and they usually are) it would be the perfect pairing for Flying Eagles. Honestly, it would be my top vote for that plot of land. #keepthebearinthewoods

If a new coaster's name is already used for a RCDB-listed coaster, you should pick a different name for your new coaster. Vortex is one of the cardinal offenders of this rule. I hope we never see another Vortex built again—especially in a theme park (read: the current goal of Kings Dominion).
Hey to be fair, the Swahili word for "Vortex" is "Mzunguko" and that at least is an acceptable name if they build an Endeavor in Jungle X.

ParkFans has already designated BGW for the Nebulaz:

Eh, the KECO Vortexes were three different types of coaster, versus Six Flags's Batmen almost all being straight clones (except Fiesta Texas and Mexico).

...You know what, I concede defeat and admit my idea was bad.

We probably need to see what the ultimate fallout with Top Thrill 2 is honestly before we get our hopes up for a lot more Zamperla flats unfortunately. I shutter knowing the Cedar Fairs leadership team with manufacturer grudges taking over the entire company after the merger.

“This already bought 230 foot tilt coaster was going in this flat plot of land in Turkey but now it’s going to the rapids plot at Carowinds! Whoops!”
