I can't link directly to the order page, but the pin starter kit can be purchased for $19.99 online. They expect these kits to be ready for pick up after April 19th.

They're also giving out a kit of all 10 pins in a frame for $149.99. The disappointing part about that is there is only 40 of these available (39 now, I just got one :D). This framed kit will be available for pick up after May2nd.

To get to the page you can go here, then click "buy now." then merchandise for more information.

Someone just pointed out the candy apple pictures that mwhinva posted a few days ago to me. My goodness, they look absolutely incredible. Can't wait to see them in the park. More  to KD from me!

We're getting closer! 15 days until they open. These banners will be though out the park.

It isn't a bad reaction, I just really, really, really wanted Rebel Yell to get repainted. It was the same reaction to when I heard LOTD was getting renovated.

Looking at that picture, there isn't much paint seen. I see VERY little red paint on the catwalk (at the roof line on the right), the white doesn't look much different in my opinion (could be the photo angle), then obviously the blue handrails. There is only 15 days before the park opens, so I don't think they can possibly finish it in time.

Also, click the photo to enlarge it or go to the link. portrait style images are not favored on the forums.

It should be interesting to see how far the park goes with the re-paint of the Rebel Yell for 2014. Does it stop with just the handrails/trim being done this year and the rest next year? Does the park continue with the paint job, [track red - superstructure white], into April-May during the week days the park is closed to the public?

We have seen that parks can paint the metal supports and track of steel coasters in cold weather. I wonder if that holds true for wooden coasters? Maybe paint for wood is more temperature sensitive and you need to paint only in the fall or spring when temps are more moderate on average?

Heck, maybe corporate was not sure if there was enough money to paint the Rebel Yell this year until they got a clearer picture of what the final costs would be for the other renovations going on for 2014. So it was in a "pending" status until corporate had the numbers in on what remained in the budget and gave a green light to move forward with painting the Rebel Yell this spring.

In any case, I'm glad the "old gal" is in the process of getting a makeover. "Eye Shadow" today and maybe "Lipstick" and "Powder" tomorrow.

The final details are going into the International Street re-painting!

Oh my God. That was something I had long hoped for, but figured would not come into fruition. This will not only wrap up the display of the Singing Mushrooms, but I think this will be the icing on the cake for the Singing Mushrooms!

It's amazing how happy a sign can make a person.

Edit: For comparison, here is a shot of the original sign from the 1977 movie Rollercoaster. As you can see, the font and layout are a bit different, but the wording is the same. The new version has a little more "whimsy" showing from it.

Edit #2: The original sign says the mushrooms must rest every 15 minutes, while the new sign says every 20 minutes. I guess the new technology means our fungal friends will be able to do some extra singing for us!
