I can't promise anything right now, but I will try. My biggest issue right now is my internet connection. I live in the country and DSL internet is pretty much non-existent. So I'm stuck with dial-up type internet.

However, I believe Joe is willing to help me out and provide some videos for KDFans. If that's not possible, I will travel to the nearest McDonalds or library to get the videos uploaded.

And just so y'all know, I bring my camera with me every time I visit the park. So if you ever want specific pictures, I will be able to get them if I don't already have them.

34 days and counting. I'm still trying to decide what the first thing I do when I get there is (besides take photos for the opening weekend photo update).
Getting the very 1st ride on 'Ruby' is something to be proud of. I mean really, who goes running for the carousel when the gates open?

Ladies and gentleman, I think I've finally found the perfect image to capture what BGW's reaction to all of this is:

Seriously though, what Kings Dominion is doing could really cause some serious damage to their longtime competitor. They're really doing everything we've wanted Busch Gardens to do for a long time. The fact that Kings Dominion is taking Busch Gardens Williamsburg head-on for the first time in ages is really something for them to get worried over. This could be a serious wake-up call for BGW.

Take it easy guys, just because KD is fiber-glassing some apples and painting some horses doesn't mean that they are on the same level as BGW. It's awesome that they are revitalizing the park after 40 years, but from all I've ever heard of the place (on here and from many other people)is it's a dump. It's easy to come from the bottom and appear to be turning things around in a major way(new paint will do that)....it's much hard to remain top notch as consistently as BGW has over the last 20+ years.

I'm pretty sure no one here is saying KD will be of higher quality than BGW overnight. But given the current trends from both parks, it wont take long before the tables are turned. And this is coming from someone who has been going to both parks for 15-ish years. I want to pull for BGW, but they keep giving me fewer reasons to do so. All while KD seems to be doing a lot of things right, capitalizing on the mistakes BGW is making.

Nobody said that KD was at the same level as BGW, we're saying they're fighting to get to that place. Also, we're saying BGW should be scared to death about it, because KD hasn't been anywhere near BGW in 25+ years. BTW, go to the park and tell me it's a dump after you see it, don't tell me it's a dump based on what you've "heard."

KD is getting closer and closer to the level that BGW is on partially because KD is making some wonderful improvements, and because BGW seems to really not care much about what their level of quality is at the time. And if both parks keep going down the same path I believe KD will surpass BGW, it's only a matter of how long that will take.

Just gonna point this out...

There seems to be a pretty constant pattern I'm seeing when this argument comes up over and over again: The people jumping on Kings Dominion haven't actually be there- at least not in a very long time. I've seen very few people who went to Kings Dominion in the past two years come out and say that KD isn't on a massive upward trajectory right now and yes, that includes many, many former BGW loyalists. KD tickets can still be found for relatively cheap prices- don't knock it till you try it- no one is going to take you seriously until you do.

Yes, I brought some of my family, in 2013, who hadn't been to KD since the early 2000's(paramount era). And when we finished our day all they could talk about was how much it improved since the last time they went.

The reason many people hated London Rocks was because, it brought with it things like the re-theme, without the re-theme I think a little more people will have open minds to it.

The re-theme you haven't seen yet, you mean?

I think the thing here is that any change that KD would make is a positive one... they couldn't sink any lower. BGW, on the other hand is going through a giant corporate-fueled reimagining. And with a loyal, devoted fanbase, of course there is opposition to changing things that many hold dear.
