Start off with the vibrant lights and sounds of Snoopy’s Starlight Spectacular and the stunning water and light displays of our fully refurbished International Street Fountain.

Nothing is official yet, but at this point I think it's pretty safe to say we will be seeing some sort of fountain show similar to that of Canada's Wonderland this season. Woot!

I'm hoping that they are going to use the Eiffel Tower as a backdrop for the fountain show similar to the Magic Kingdom Castle as well as Wonder Mountain at Canadas Wonderland.  It'd be even cooler if they also used they fuel injected water technology that Oase displayed at the IAAPA show http://screamscape.com/html/iaapa_2013.htm  Either way, the projectors would add a good show element to help add more of a "wow factor".

There was a CoasterCrew Podcast interview with the [former?] Kings Dominion PR manager this past fall. Someone was referring to Canada's Wonderland night-time light show and Gene from KD stated that they would hopefully have a similar type of light show at KD. But, the Eiffel Tower was not a good candidate for a projection system because of the lack of surface area to project on. Wonder Mountain has a large solid surface area to project on; hence their unique night-time production at CW.

Thanks for the update! I must say... wow. KD is really stepping up their game for this season. They've been on the up and up for a while, and it looks like this is more of a lifestyle change than a fad diet for the park, to use a bizarre metaphor. Keep up the good work, Evan!

Look at how Marvelous they all are! I'm going to spend a lot of money this year at KD.

KD40 Pins!!!!

Ahhh I love them. I wish they put prices on them. I imagine the starter kit will be around 15-20 bucks and each pin will be 5-6 dollar range. That mushroom one is gonna be fun to try and get haha.

Though I wish there was a lost world one :(

Maybe it's just me, but I'm not a big fan of most of the designs. The only ones I really like are the ones that come with the lanyard. Maybe the Grove one too.

I also wish they'd have more pins for more rides/attractions. I understand they're trying to go all out for the 40th, but what about after that? I hope the park at least rolls out designs for future pins featuring the current attractions as well as the vintage/anniversary style ones.

- I'm glad the park is jumping on the pin trading bandwagon. It's kinda overdue at this point, especially considering Knotts has been carrying pins for quite some time now.

-- I also hope more CF parks start rolling out pins of their own. Cedar Point would be a perfect candidate for their own pin set.

Oh man, I would absolutely go for some sweet Cedar Point pins. As it is, I'm excited about these KD pins. Even though I don't love a lot of the current designs, I'm hopeful that they'll add some cool additions as time goes by.

Yeah I'll be honest I dont like most the designs either. The Mushroom one was poorly vectored. My favorites are the Logo and the Candy Apple grove one but the others are just not designed well. It looks like the Candy Apple one will be sparkly :D

Wow! Thanks for sharing mwhinva! It's looking amazing!

No problem! You should check his Facebook album. He captioned all the photos and describes the restoration process in each one. Kind of interesting to read about the repair/restoration needed and the paint process.

While driving to Fredricksburg this morning for a disc golf tournament, I caught my 1st glimpse of Intimidator for the season through the thin trees. The sun was still low in the sky with that very 'clean' light. The top half of the lift hill was glowing red behind colorless trees! I would have stopped for probably the best photo of that thing EVER, but I was on the most dangerous interstate around. I didn't feel stopping for a photo was the safest thing to do. Man it was cool looking though :) Next thing I saw was #KD40 on the sign and poof, I was gone. soon.

Edit...Great pics of Ruby mwhinva! I cant wait to get a photo of my little girl on that horse.

34 days and counting. I'm still trying to decide what the first thing I do when I get there is (besides take photos for the opening weekend photo update).
