Walked around Supply Co today. They have gone real hard on the generic merchandise this year; around a quarter of the store is bland T-shirts. Also there's a new wall of Candy that I don't remember being there before.

Hopefully some better, more unique merch shows up soon and this is just what arrived first for this season. Merch has always been a super strong point at Hershey in my opinion. I'd hate to see that tend end.

Back when Supply Co opened, they had a bunch of nice vintage/retro T-Shirts. I actually bought a shirt today that's one of those triblend with just the pinwheel design. It's more expensive ($30 versus a lot of other shirts at $25), but the quality feels softer, and the printing should hold up better in the longer run. (Excuse the lighting):

I didn't photograph it, but there's also new "2025" merch (which is really a tired trend, something that I wish they'd stop doing every year) and "Passholder" shirts/spirit jerseys that look joyless and uninspired as the generic athletic "Hershey" shirts in my last post.

Park opens in two weeks!
I agree that this is a disappointment compared to prior years. I will say, I like the new Candymonium logo design, if only because it ACTUALLY SHOWS THE COASTER.
If 2026 really is going to be a big year for Hersheypark, it wouldn't surprise me if they chose to double-down on better merch for next year, and settled for ho-hum this year.

Opening day. Did see some new stuff. There's a new hoodie for the Kissing Tower's 50th anniversary:

New food truck for Yanni's Gyros, which is also in the Hershey Fresh Market. Very nice new option!

The other new place replacing Moe's is Los Tres Cubanos. Didn't seem very busy when I stepped inside:

The building for Skyview is still standing, the support column. I am guessing this will be reused in the future for something, hopefully just a shaded pavilion (like Dorney Park's Central Tool Annex).

Also there's a new Oola Bowls location:

Some of the shops have moved around. The Toy shop is now up front where the VR simulator was. The HP Collections shop is also getting some work:

Not my thing, but two new brand shops also opened:

Sooperdooperlooper is getting some kind of upgrade, sadly it's closed this weekend but both trains are on the track:

Quick visit this morning 5/10. They were doing "rope drop" inside the park - I love this, and Candymonium was opened early.

Rode Dry Gulch Railroad - they added new signs to the low zone fencing around Trailblazer that I noticed in my last post. It just kind-of "ends" at an odd place - I wonder if more is coming?

A big YES seeing rope drop in the park. The entry experience right at opening on a busy day was always the worst. I hope Hershey continues to do this without any issues.

Went for Food Truck Friday. I was pretty bummed out - despite the park being packed (with about 50/50 school groups and families today), the food trucks were stuffed into the back of the Boardwalk on a dead-end. You had to walk past every other food stand (which all had lines today) for the trucks, which were completely empty.

I did end up buying a $9 grilled cheese with buffalo chicken, which was OK. Happy to support local businesses, but they really should have stuck them on busier sections of the park - otherwise, what if the point?

For comparison, this is what the rest of the park looked like. It was busier than the four hours I spent at the park last Saturday.

^^-- it could be noted that parking at the gate is $35 but online is $26 (up $1?) and I know from experience that online parking can be applied to a season's pass upgrade, offered later by email!

Don't forget to add your $5.99 fries and $5.99 24 oz soft drink to your burger.
$25 plus 6% PA sales tax is $26.50 per person.

Those are some shockingly honest food photos.
As far as I can tell, Mobile Ordering started for the Universal parks around 2018 and Disney parks around 2019. And then during the pandemic, it feels like a bunch of other parks and restaurants followed with that.

So Hersheypark is only 6-7 years behind the curve. Maybe in another 5-6 years, they can adopt the way Six Flags/Cedar Fair has improved their food service?

Anyway here’s some more feedback from BlueSky:

Silver lining though, no extra charge for cheese!

Also they didn’t change the favicon:

The brochure for the software has a much more appealing burger with (gasp) toppings. How could they not know?

For the record, I'm actually super in favor of the honestly in advertising on display here. It's refreshing and I respect it a lot.

Now maybe burgers shouldn't come out to customers looking like that, but that's a different discussion. If that's what they serve, that's what should be depicted. I unironically applaud Hershey for the honestly.
