The husband and I are going to Hersheypark next week probably Wednesday or Thursday. This will be our first visit. Any tips on the best things to do first or 'insider' information on the park would be appreciated. We are hoping that crowds will be low since a lot of schools have already started back for the year.

I haven’t been since 2022, but my brother has gone since Wildcat’s Revenge opened and said it’s really a crapshoot whether you should beeline for WCR or Comet. Definitely hit Candymonium later in the day, though, most people are gonna go straight there with it being right at the front gate.

I recommend coming early in the day, but you wouldn't need to be at the parking lot more than a half hour before the posted opening hours. Laff Trakk, Wildcat's Revenge, Wild Mouse, and Lighting Racer is a good start; these are in the direct back of the park. Comet is usually busy through the day, and I would save Candymonium for the afternoon or even evening.

If you're looking for cheap tickets, I recommend Giant food stores or online deals. Don't also skip the Preview Plan (which also has free parking) if you're staying overnight nearby, great for some night rides. Looks like the park is only open 11-7 on those days you mentioned, so this helps break that up:

Fahrenheit is also a good choice to hit early as its throughput is quite low. I like to hit it first since I'm passing it on the way to WCR or Laff Trakk (if I have someone in tow who must ride it). Comet and Candymonium are best saved for later when crowds wind down. The first and last few hours are always the best line-wise if you can be there for them.

Shit, I completely forgot about Laff Track. It’s the one credit there that’s evaded me because of this.
We aren’t coaster counters. We would rather go to a park and ride the best coasters multiple times than spend all day trying to ride everything. When we did carowinds a few years ago we did Fury 8-10 times and didn’t worry about some of the less ‘thrilling’ coasters. Definitely not going to get the kiddie credits…. 😂

Even though Laff Trakk isn't the most thrilling, I do think some effort is worthwhile to experience it once. It's a cloned layout, but it's probably the best of its genre.

The standard mouse on the other hand is infinitely skippable. It's probably the only coaster I'd really advise skipping. Even their boomerang is oddly well-done vibes-wise.

If you care about the dark ride in the park, add that to your early morning list. It's.... meh... but a dark ride is a dark ride and it, like Laff Trakk, has particularly horrible capacity.

I'd just work my way down the length of the park towards Lightning Racers at the start of the day hitting the low capacity stuff back there and getting all the cycles on Wildcat's Revenge you can (it's crazy underrated in my opinion—super elite RMC!).

Whatever you do, don't skip Chocolate World's dark ride though—it's way better than the in-park one in my opinion and it chews through lines. It normally stays open longer than the park, but check Chocolate World hours to be sure and plan accordingly.

Given all of the subtle shade being thrown at Laff Trakk here, I want to advocate a bit for it. Maybe because it is indoor, I really enjoy this coaster. It obviously isn’t a huge thrill ride, but it is unusual and a ton of fun. And the theming really adds to the experience for me, as well.

I like all those Pandemonium layout spinners since they don't spin a lot but instead do kooky things like leave you facing one direction while the track turns around you. I usually go to Fahrenheit and Storm Runner first and see if ahead enough of the crowd, they can be really slow. If through the gate really early check Candymonium, easily worth a stairs wait but watch out for the ground level queue. Then Laff and Wildcat's, which has consistent line most of the day and also is great to lap at end day. Wait on Lightning Racer if not running 2 sides yet but don't miss. I even like their Mouse, shorter wait, maybe save for if WR next door goes down. But you may feel like that's something you have at home. Then back to the front, expect to walk the whole place twice, it's not huge but the entrance/exit is at one end and can be confusing.

Finally show "Twizz's Twisted Trivia" show today in the Music Box Theater. Show is around 20 minutes long and has an interactive aspect where you can play on your phone along with the show. It's cute but it's aimed at kids.

They do tease a Halloween and Christmas show during the "commercials" between rounds. So at least there's something to look forward to.

They had a "rare" character out: Gumdrop from Cupfusion. I also took a shot of the Fast Track pricing today:

HP Supply Co is now also selling Tudor Square bricks as keepsakes. Looks like they are labled on the back:

The husband and I had an amazing trip to Hershey!!! Thanks to all that gave us the tips and recommendations. We rode most of the coasters we wanted, some multiple times. We did miss out on Comet (pretty bummed on that), Trailblazer, and super dooper looper. They do have some amazing coasters there! Candymonium, Skyrush, Farenheight, and Storm Runner were very good! Wildcats Revenge was next level like Twisted Timbers! Lightning Racer was fun racing the two trains, Jolly Rancher Remix was a fun Boomerang, Great Bear was meh….

Laff Trakk…. Thank you @YachtyLogs and @Nicole . This was unlike any coaster we have ever experienced. It wasn’t the best or most intense, but it was fun!!!! Very unique and definitely worth the experience. Good call doing it early because 30 minutes after opening, there was already a 30-45 minute wait and the line didn’t look too long.

Last year when we were planning this trip we had penciled in SFGA. After the removal of Ka, we switched to Hershey. Glad we did!!! Great park, ops were pretty good, the park was clean, and there was a lot to do in the area with the Chocolate Factory and Amish Country. Definitely going to go back. Thanks to all in ParkFans nation for the tips!!!
