I just want to say that I think this renovation looks fantastic. It looks like new Squire's should move to marketplace-style service a la Marco Polo's. That's already a big improvement. They could have just taken the easy way out and cleared out the existing interior to make the service change work—relegating any queues to outdoor stansion mazes just like Marco Polo has. Instead, they're busting down walls and extending the restaurant into the old funnel cake shop to give it a proper indoor queue space—and quite nice looking indoor queue space too!

Then, judging by Kevin's statement regarding the continuation of both funnel cake and ice cream sales in this area of the park, it sounds like both will now be sold out of London Dairy. Given that London Dairy was basically never open, ice cream has rarely been available in the front of the park for many years now. Combining the ice cream and funnel cake shop will massively increase ice cream availablity while enabling continued funnel cake sales. Again, a huge win in my book.

This whole project seems well though-out and, judging by the concept art, looks very aesthetically pleasing too—and, even more importantly, inline with the existing look and feel of the hamlet.

Really thrilled with what I've seen so far!

@Zachary - based on concept art and what you’ve seen so far with this do you:
1) Have hope this will turn out as good as the art?
2) Have hope we are turning a corner on quality of build outs?
The recent Festa renovation came out both fairly nice and close to concept art and the same people are involved so there is hope.

I don't have any reason not to believe the finished product will look like the concept art.

Also, I'd say that the vast, vast majority of the time, BGW actually pulls off these renovation projects perfectly. Whoever at the park is guiding these projects—resturant overhauls, bathroom renovations, etc—pretty consistently does a great job. The park has really struggled with the quality of new construction lately, but those projects are more likely to be controlled by corporate I imagine?

Likely conversation for elsewhere, but I would be really interested in knowing this. I don't see how they can't put together a better system. Would like to see something where they can ID the plots for growth, Corporate can plan what does there, then let the local park handle the construction of buildings related to the project.

As for this specifically. I'm cautiously optimistic. The quality of what comes out will be important, but maybe this is the start of some bigger kitchen renovations.

Looks fantastic. I love that they’re taking what’s always looked like a 1980s fast food restaurant and actually giving it a look that’s fitting with Banbury’s theme.

Perhaps even more than that, I’m thrilled that it looks like all the tapestries and paintings from the original Squire’s are being repurposed in the new building! It looks like there may even be some new ones? I love that they’re taking some bits of the Old Country and featuring them more prominently — in a much more fitting setting.

Between Nessie and now this, 2024 is looking like one of the best years for BGW in a long time!

I think BGW pulled off the Build-A-Bear very tastefully. I still wouldn't want a park with a bunch of chains, but give me things like this over another shop with generic Simply Southern bullshit (what this shop had become) absolutely any day.
