That's not what I said. I said not having a generic British item on the menu is trivial. The lack of fish and chips from the menu is inconsequential to my experience and does not detract from my enjoyment of Banbury Cross and of this entire project.

The European food used to be a huge part of the experience at BGW. Authentic German food in Das Festhaus, homemade Italian food in Ristorante Della Piazza, traditional Irish Stew at Grogan’s Grill… the list goes on. My grandfather, who lived in Germany for many years, used to love visiting BGW year even in his old age because the food at the Festhaus was so close to the real thing — he (and many others) literally used to visit just for the food. The point of the food isn’t to help you feel immersed in the setting, but rather the reverse. If a setting is truly immersive, one of the perks of that immersive setting is getting to enjoy the food native to that setting.
Imagine if all the pavilions in Epcot’s World Showcase served burgers and chicken tenders instead of the actual cuisines of their representative countries. It would absolutely impact the experience, even if they were the best burgers and chicken fingers in the world.

I've been going to BGW since the late 70's. I can recall maybe two times that we ate at Squires - only because it was the most convenient - and to this day I recall having one of the worst, plainest burgers I've ever had.Get better friends @warfelg. /s... I guess.
In all seriousness though, this menu is 100% plain offerings. The theoretical existence of one or two things that aren't plain has no impact on the wide selection of things that very much are.
Oh, and guess what, an actually interesting option at the top of the menu would expand the restaurant's audience! With the current menu, you'll never find me at Squires. If they had an interesting, unique, good, themed flagship offering—guess what—I'd go from time to time. As long as there's something for people like me at Squires, I don't care if the rest of the menu is basic, overpriced trash.
I am POSITIVE I am not alone in this too—because I've gone to the park for decades with tons of people who would never fathom eating a plain fucking cheeseburger at BGW—let alone paying BGW prices for that privilege. I accept that plenty of people do exist who will gravitate towards these options if they're offered the ability and that's fine, whatever, make your money BGW. I just also expect themed offerings alongside those overpriced, bad McDonalds-style dishes.
Back in the day, it was always Das Festhaus where we'd have huge corned beef sandwiches, or platters with German potato salad, or whatever and finish off each meal with a triple layer black forest cake. I miss those days.
I disagree. I've been to England and had outstanding meals. Americanized versions of English foods are usually horrible.
Same. We had meals in England that were excellent.
Yes. I’ve been to England and they have some of the best Indian food I’ve eaten. 
Hopefully they bring back the Dickens Cider. Nothing kept me more warm on those cold winter nights like a good Dickens cider.
The good English food is really just Irish pub food anyways. I mean there’s a reason their national dish is a chicken tikka Masala.
They’re fish. I would hope so.
