It was for the best, obviously. Only 5 days left until "Britmania" begins previews. I still think the name "Britmania" sounds like a musical revue using only Britney Spears songs with everyone dressed like her. :p

It kind of looks like the rinky-dink music revues Kings Dominion used to put on in the KD Theatre...

It sounds like they will be "flying" in some of their scenery kind of like the Abbey Road Records facade. I'm still not holding out for much, but I am getting more excited.

The other day I saw Jennifer Thomas walking towards The Globe Theatre prior to closing, and I was hoping to hear some music from outside the doors, but I didn't. I sometimes try to catch rehearsals on the way out.

Maybe if I don't like this show, I can switch into my red London Rocks T-shirt afterwards. The shirt was a gift, but I love it for the sake of the irony.

The pictures look pretty good. So the edge of the stage and the staircases light up now which looks nice, the costumes are interesting, it seems the show might be a "timeline show" which starts from the 1960's to today which reminds me of "Totally Television", the lightning design and lasers are cool and striking, and the big bonus is that this is from the same people who worked on "American Jukebox" back in 97.

My hopes for this show suddenly got high, I'll try to lower them but it's going to be hard to do so! :D

Unlike those rinky-dink revues at KD, "Britmania" is going to fill it with the new projection art all over the set so it won't feel empty.

Matt Davenport Productions is always consistent in making really good shows no matter what park they're in. Just that aspect of "Britmania" alone makes this better than "London Rocks" and it hasn't started previews yet.

Even the out of place "American Jukebox" was well done and highly entertaining.

the projectors, follow spots, and led lighting in that theater make what little lighting designer is left in me cry.

they are an abomination.

I can see that. An entire set shouldn't disappear just because a spotlight is shining. This leaves them with very narrow spots casts (sometimes from overhead) that highlight sweat instead of the performer.

Sometimes the more outlandishly-colorful costumes solve this problem by not detracting as much from the set, but then it's a costuming issue. That said, I tend to be rather forgiving of technology restraints, so I usually can just ignore it.

Until said park has the show to themselves for three weeks, then it's the moment of truth. I've seen it many shows go down from there at Hersheypark. On this front, Busch Gardens better be different. However, as soon as corporate notices that in-house Entertainment personnel is no longer necessary, there wont be as many of them left. Outsourcing only works for BGW with shows that they could never create by themselves. There's nothing that MDP can do that BGW can't. MDP, or anything less could be a slippery slope for them if they aren't careful.

That's actually a very good point. I really hope for the best and that things can actually work out instead of it ending badly. And you're right about BGW only outsourcing when they can't create a show alone; "All For One", "Enchanted Laboratory", and "Secrets of Castle O'Sullivan" are perfect examples of this.

Britmania has a proper logo now.
