Since it has been raised several times, I want to address the comments about not having a dedicated thread for OctoberZest yet.

All of the Admins have (more important) responsibilities in our "real lives." In fact, this has been a particularly busy week for me at work, and my career will always come first. Zachary, similarly, spent all of yesterday tracking activities at the InvadR site in the rain.

Splitting out the existing posts into a new thread is not a simple click of a button, and will require one of us to spend a dedicated block of time on a desktop.

Since conversation is not being hindered by the title of this thread, we appreciate your patience, until we have the time to build a new one.

I wonder if you guys have heard any news/rumors about "Britmania"? I remember that "London Rocks" was talked about in EPIC length about it's process/rehearsals/theories long before the show opened in 2014.

Aside from this being more of a live band show versus a pre-recorded soundtrack, I  don't know much else about this one yet.

"Super Bowl Live" or really "Live"? My money is on the former.

considering how often singers are not actually singing at BGW, I suspect you are right. They do love their pre-record.

According to a Backstage.com casting call for this show, rehearsals begin in late May so maybe some rumors might get started from that.

I like that the set is mostly the same but the raking stage is reduced; I hope "Britmania" has better designed projections and costumes than what "London Rocks" has spewed out on us for three seasons.

I always sort of thought the costumes and projections were two of LR's best assets. The projections were fantastic (colorful, dramatic, and a bit whimsical) themselves, and the only real issue I had with them was that they were often blurry.

Similarly, the costumes were always good (except for the "Under the Sea" costumes from LR 1.0); they were creative but usually understated, which was surprising for a show as in-your-face as LR. I especially liked the "camera" costumes that lasted through all three of the show's seasons.

To be honest, I actually hope the costumes and projections are two of the few similarities Britmania bears to London Rocks.

Is Banbury getting it's own Village Band for two months?

Apparently that's their goal. I wouldn't be surprised if they have some type of backup track to use sparingly or otherwise. Even most shows on Broadway will have the first 10 seconds or so pre-recorded before the full orchestra or band kicks in. Gloria also uses this method and so did Rejoice. They do that because first impressions are so crucial that they don't want to have any room to mess up.

What was wrong with the LR costumes?

Maybe it's because I love these songs, but I did hope they would go all the way with them with the surreal creativity the songs inspire ("Yellow Submarine" anyone?). I just thought they played it too safe with the costumes and projections (but I will say that the first season was better on the crazy, surreal end).

... the park plans on pumping the room full of LSD.

That might actually make interested in sitting through a theme park show.

Also, they shouldn't stop there. I'd look forward to an 80s themed Gordon Gekko revue where they pump the room full of supply-side economics, Phil Collins, money and cocaine.
