Just a note. Russia is it's own continent, and therefore not Europe/the Old Country. (Yes I know Canada isn't either)

Russia is not it's own continent. Part of Russia is in Europe and part is Asia. The old Soviet countries are often seen as being in "Eurasia".

Moscow is in eastern Europe.

RE: 2014 Coaster

Russia would be ok. New France though, I always thought could be turned into Norway? Le Scoot into some sort of Viking themed Voyage!:) Oh, and with Kingsmill, a wooden coaster would never fly! And plus, I kindof hate them. Haha

************Has anyone ever ridden Twister at Knoebels? I haven't, but from reviews and video, that seems like one awesome (and rather compact) ride.

I've ridden it. It's alright, it isn't anything special, and it is a little rough. (Not Gwazi level rough though.) To me it's just a typical slightly fun wooden coaster. And I should mention that Twister was a custom project by Knoebels themselves, so you won't see anything like it. Also, compared to Phoenix, another woodie on the other side of the park, Phoenix completely blows Twister out of the water, it is amazing.

I think with a little touch up, I think New France (aka CANADA) could be turned into Switzerland. It's idea that's been out there for a while, but has never really been emphasized upon.

Oh I know its custom. I meant along the lines as, not the copy.
Twister itself is taken from the blueprint of Mister Twister at Elitch Gardens after Knoebels decided not to buy and relocate (like they did with Phoenix). Yeah Phoenix is awesome too, but some like Twister as much or better....its all good.

I love wooden coasters, but one in BGW? No thanks.

There too big for the park...

Plus it would be ugly and noisy.

Not necessarily on either counts, but to each his/her own.

I have, its alot of fun but verry shaky and jarring.... and Phoenix is soooo much better, I love the old lap bars

RE: 2014 Coaster

As would I. Like I said, I got this from someone who I know definitely isn't lying, but they arent the highest in the chain either. It isn't beyond possible that this is/was old news. Something that was on the table before they decided on this whole Mach tower and launch coaster thing. It was always my impression that the Mach tower was the rumored second coaster, but o know have reason to think otherwise. Right now, the best thing for us to do is sit and wait to see how this develops.

P.S. If you want a probability at this point, I'll give you 65%. I should be able to give a better estimate once I get a feel for how they handle this season.

[Fixed a few errors. ~Swiftman]

[edit] Thanks, I was on the iPod.

Im thinking this will go in festhaus park and along with it a new trin station. I think one is long overdue.

Would not hold your breath for a train staion in FHP for they will need to rework to track and removing much of the uphill grade and the turns at that point. this is what i have been told is why they have not but one in earlier.

RE: 2014 Coaster

I've been mulling over this rumor and it seems fitting that they would add a new coaster so soon. This is following on the heels of a controversial removal of a coaster. What happened last time? Drachen Fire went SBNO when Alpengeist was built, and after it got the official axe for good, AC went up. Granted, that may have been to cover for the removal of a mistake that lasted only six years, but this 2014 rumor is possible.

RE: 2014 Coaster

What ever they decided to but in at BG two things are for sure it will not be wooden(noise) and it will not be very tall. Kings mill and colonial williamsburg Foundation will make sure of this. They have ALOT of pull with the james city planning commissin. look at what they had to go through for just the Drop Tower

RE: 2014 Coaster

I agree that it won't be wooden due to Kingsmill complaints. I just don't think that Busch wants to go through the trouble of those crotchety old citizens for a wooden ride. And they don't necessarily need to. The only other wooden coaster in all of SWP&E is Gwazi; we all know how that went. And BGW added Apollo in that year to much greater success than the BGT addition. Plus, Busch knows that they have one of the world's greatest selection of steel rides. Only Cedar Point can challenge BGW for the best collection of four roller coasters, in my opinion. However, I don't necessarily agree about the height concern. The most recent large additions to the park include Griffon (205 ft.) and Mach Tower (205+ ft.) I think a big argument by those committees against Mach Tower was the fact that they were afraid the tower would be a big, ugly pole. They're not necessarily wrong. The one thing that may prevent Busch from adding another large attraction is that the park does not need another large, sky-colored ride. But if there's a will, there's a way. At least, hopefully.

Actually it was running through 1998, the year before Apollo came in. And they almost opened it in 2001 and 2002.

RE: 2014 Coaster

A larger coaster could fit in the back of Festa or in Festhaus Park, but a smaller coaster (Euro-Fighter, Spinner, Family Coaster, etc.) could fit into Ireland or Italy. If this mythical 2014 coaster exists, I imagine that it would be a smaller coaster. Also, I don't see Busch playing the "Fethaus Park" card or the "Festa Field" card any time soon.

Let it be known that from now on, I'm calling the mostly empty field behind Festa, "Festa Field".

RE: 2014 Coaster

Personally, A spinning coaster would be awesome! And something of that sorta could fit well in Swift's Knoll

RE: 2014 Coaster

If they did something like that, it would probably be put in the area between England and Ireland. A compact coaster would fit great in there.

RE: 2014 Coaster

I'd like to see that. Now that the Globe Theatre has been infested by Elmo and the only ride in Ireland is EiTA, a compact coaster would be the only thing that would make me even go to that area, aside from maybe Celtic Fyre or lunch at Grogan's.
