RE: 2014 Coaster

A spinner would be nice, and fill the gap that was made when they closed BBW(it could be more a transition coaster!)

RE: 2014 Coaster

My guess is that the 2014 coaster will be family-friendly while the 2012 coaster will be way more thrilling.

As for theme and location, my bets are placed on either Italy, Ireland, or in an entirely new country. In Italy, I could imagine an astronomy themed coaster mainly centered around early space discoveries and astronomers like Galileo Galilei. If it was in Ireland, either an Irish mine coaster or a "fantastical" journey into a magical forest filled with mythical Celtic creatures could fit. If it was a headliner for a new country, I have no idea what the theme would be.

I think it would be in either Italy or Ireland because Ireland needs something to keep guests eyes off of the failure of EitA, and Italy hasn't had anything major added since Apollo's Chariot.

RE: 2014 Coaster

Here's how I believe it's going to go down. 1) Mäch Tower a huge hit in 2011, 2) 2012 new coaster is again a huge hit, 3) Small changes to the park in 2013, possibly new train system, 4) Fall 2013 they have an announcement. New country. New coaster. The only feasible country for them to use would be Spain. There are 2 locations where this country could be. Either where the DF coaster used to be or to the right and behind the ocktoberfest, crossing over the train tracks. Now for the coaster. Since BG names all their roller coasters after mythical creature theres a very good possibility that it could be called the Minotaur, because bulls are related to Spain. But the only problem with that is that the Minotaur is a roman myth, which wouldn't technically go along with the theme, not that anyone would notice. Other than that there are no popular Spanish myths that I can think of so I'll say they will probably call it the Minotaur. As for what it will be like, I say it will be a B&M coaster with a drop that wont overshadow AC or Griffin. Since BG is creative and doesn't reuse ideas often, I think it will be fast, like a bull, and stay generally close to the ground, swerving in and out of buildings, until the end where it shoots up to a drop that's around 175 ft maybe more. I don't think it will be bigger than AC because Apollos Chariot is like a godly coaster and kind of the symbol of BG. So what do you guys think?

RE: 2014 Coaster

If it is a bull themed coaster I would say the new B&M winged rides (I cant remember the exact name). Some rumors are that Raptor at Gardaland is the "gate way" to B&M making a 4D coaster. If it is a bull themed B&M I would say it would either be like Raptor or a B&M 4D coaster.

If you dont know what Raptor is: http://rcdb.com/9309.htm

RE: 2014 Coaster

If 2012 is as intense as people say then I could only see 2014 as a smooth family ride. Manta to me is a family coaster, it is smooth, graceful but amazingly fun at the same time.

RE: 2014 Coaster

Yeah, I think Scoutn is right. If the 2012 coaster is all crazy I think it will be a family coaster. I just think with a bull theme the new B&M style coaster would fit very well.

RE: 2014 Coaster

I don't think BGW would build a new hamlet anytime soon, I think it would be nice if a a new coaster was built on the former DrachenFire site. I still have my hopes up for a real Big Bad Wolf successor.

RE: 2014 Coaster

Oh I definitely agree that there will be a family friendly ride. But who knows the family friendly ride could be the 2012 coaster and 2014 ride be an intense coaster or visa versa. I haven't been keeping a close eye on the 2012 coaster, are there any specs ye like ride high? I did already hear about the crazy start of the ride though. With it hanging you upside-down.

Take a good look through the 2012 thread, the last ten or so pages has some great info and some that you never would have guessed.

RE: 2014 Coaster

esp. my evil plan to ROCK THE COASTER WORLD! I wonder if I could make it profitable...

RE: 2014 Coaster

If you're talking a new country, why go with a new coaster? Because it's BGW and they have to have coasters? I love the idea of Norway...at EPCOT it's my favorite Country, and BGW could do it bigger and more thrilling. A boat ride like Maelstrom that sends you over the edge of the world. Perhaps a viking raid on a village. Something big and mean looking as hell called Berserker. Now we're talking.
But the thought of putting something in Fest Haus park? I think they have way too much success with concerts back there.

RE: 2014 Coaster

Yeah, it would make more sense to use the land which houses the animals beside Festa and leave Festhaus Park open for concerts, maybe finally build a third Rhine crossing. A water coaster would be an awesome addition to the park, I'd have no complaints.

RE: 2014 Coaster

Where would you link the bridge to? Wouldn't you need a country in both places to have a 3rd river crossing put in? If they used the land behind Festa, I love the idea that Nora had a while back: Add a second boat dock and make the Rhine River Cruise into a transport ride.

RE: 2014 Coaster

No, you don't need a country in Festhaus Park for a third crossing, make Festhaus Park a dedicated special events venue and extend a path to a third crossing. Just don't close Festhaus Park off like is currently done.

RE: 2014 Coaster

That would be a really long path with absolutely nothing on it. It doesn't seem like all that great of an idea if you ask me.

RE: 2014 Coaster

The Wild Reserve seems like a long path with nothing on it until you put something there. Just because it's a dedicated special events area doesn't mean you can't add anything else.

RE: 2014 Coaster

The area is huge. What would they fill it with? Would it really be useful enough/get enough use to justify building it? I think not.

RE: 2014 Coaster

There was a time in the park's history where a path didn't have to be completely closed in by buildings and "things to do", I guess times have changed though.

BTW, the path in my head was much closer to the train track.

RE: 2014 Coaster

I think that if they Put Spain over by Festa, that it could reconnect with San Marco via the path to the bathrooms. They would only have to demolish that wall and build the path to Spain.

Here's where I mean.
