RE: 2014 Coaster

An additional path closer to the Germany-Italy bridge to the DF area and the train station can help with the location.

Concerts can be moved to an expanded and renovated Royal Palace Theater. As for the Howl-O-Scream mazes, that area doesn't have to be used for HOS. Other place can hold the mazes, like the Roman Rapids queue, EitA queue, Autobahn building (like what KD does with Dodgems), and the Rhine River Cruise area.

Or they could make a brand new Festhaus park just beyond the Railroad tracks. That way everyone wins!:p

1. That path would never work with the new coaster.

2. The Royal Palace Theater isn't what I would call a good concert venue. Its more of a show type place.

3. You would never be able to build behind the park because of being too close to Kings Mill and accessibility.

RE: 2014 Coaster

Perhaps this 2014 coaster will be replacing The Loch Ness Monster............

*Ducks for Cover* ;)

RE: 2014 Coaster

waross.. that was what I was thinking when I was thinking of possibilities.. strictly based on the fact it is so old. But over beside Festa would be better for a new land (Greece??)

RE: 2014 Coaster

Maybe they will replace eita and use the cave as the ride entrance /exit
i liked the idea of a ireland mine coaster in one of the other threads posted on here.

RE: 2014 Coaster

Maybe I'll be proven wrong but I highly doubt you will ever see a country or coaster ever in the DF area. Too many things go on now there as it is. Between all the concerts and HOS I don't think BGW would give it up.

I agree. From everything I've seen Busch do, I believe they have given up on Festhaus Park as being a good area for rides and a country. No one can blame them; last time they tried it, the results were terrible. Besides, it seems to work as a very well-functioning venue for a concerts and a great spot for HOS (though I think HOS mazes would not have to be affected by a ride or country - just different theming and more creativity). I also don't think it is a good idea to move concerts to RPT.

But over beside Festa would be better for a new land (Greece??)

Personally, I think adding a Greece section to the park is a terrible idea, and I can't understand why it is such a prevalent rumor, or why so many people want Busch to add it. It would quite literally be a waste of a country. It seems that most people do not understand that Greco-Roman mythology and culture are basically one and the same. Thusly, we have Festa Italia, and we have Greece. There were hopes on these forums that with a Greece country, Busch might add a B&M flyer called Icarus. The Daedulus and Icarus myth was written by Ovid in about 60 A.D.; it has absolutely nothing to do with Greek mythology. There is almost nothing unique Busch could do with a Greece section that they cannot already do with Festa Italia.

Also, I love the Olde Country theme of the park, and Greece is not in the old country, so I would vote it down based on that alone. (Same with Spain).

RE: 2014 Coaster

Hm.. Any other countries ( Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Netherlands?) just some thoughts!

RE: 2014 Coaster

Personally, I dont like the idea of Greece or Spain. I am not sure why, but I think they could find a better country...... and I am not sure which one.

RE: 2014 Coaster

Ooooooo a wooden coaster. You better watch that talk around these parts mister. :p

I, however, have been on board for a long time. Get the Gravity Group to come in and custom design one their hybrid woody coasters with steel framing....along with their sweet new Timberliner trains.

************Has anyone ever ridden Twister at Knoebels? I haven't, but from reviews and video, that seems like one awesome (and rather compact) ride.

I'd be down with something like that.

I'm thinking noise is still the issue with wooden coasters for Busch, but perhaps there are ways around it. I did hear something about GG coasters with the new Timberliners were quieter......

RE: 2014 Coaster

This is kinda getting a little off-topic but I think a Russia themed hamlet would be fun. It could have a snowy landscape, buildings and structures could have architecture resembling that of Saint Basil's Cathedral, and a gift shop can sell genuine ushankas! :D

I'm not entirely sure what themes could be associate with rides or attractions there but I'm sure there are some Russia historians and cultural enthusiasts that could give some ideas!

RE: 2014 Coaster

An appropriately themed and tastefully done Russia could be a wonderful addition to the park. I know it's trite, but I have always envisioned an all-encompassing Nordic land of Viking theme with dueling wooden roller coasters based off of the myth of Thor and the Magdid Serpent. This theme could incorporate one airtime style ride as Thor's hammer, and an intense twisting ride as the serpent. It be awesome as a dueler and could have a spectacular double water splashdown. Well, that's my dream...

I've ridden it. It's alright, it isn't anything special, and it is a little rough. (Not Gwazi level rough though.) To me it's just a typical slightly fun wooden coaster. And I should mention that Twister was a custom project by Knoebels themselves, so you won't see anything like it. Also, compared to Phoenix, another woodie on the other side of the park, Phoenix completely blows Twister out of the water, it is amazing.

I think with a little touch up, I think New France (aka CANADA) could be turned into Switzerland. It's idea that's been out there for a while, but has never really been emphasized upon.

RE: 2014 Coaster

Just a note. Russia is it's own continent, and therefore not Europe/the Old Country. (Yes I know Canada isn't either)
