Not if one considers that the company's fate was in limbo for a time during that period, i.e. Anheuser Busch acquired by InBev, et al...

YouHow is right on that as much as I hate to say it.

That park was never in limbo either. Just sayin'

I knew this whole time that BSG is not responsible for the recent changes but I still find it kinda funny that it all is happening right after they bought Busch.

On another note: I miss all the AB stuff and I don't like BSG for it! Also I don't like the company's new name. :dodgy:

I heard today from an employee that most of the 2011 and 2012 changes were already in play when BSG acquired the park.

False info?

True info. After 2012 though the changes don't extend far that were not AB planned. Granted I am sure some show changed were made after the fact and more than likely the OF retheming. The management staff at high levels is essentially the same. Only real difference is who they are answering to.

Actually, as far as funding goes, it was. A new owner may not want to pay for something they don't agree with or that they don't see as fiscally feasible. Just sayin'. Personally I believe that, had the ownership not changed, the new coaster construction would have started a year earlier, becoming the 2011 addition...

Blackstone has now had a full season to observe business, needs, crowd flows, etc., and we know there is something major coming for 2012, and hopefully 2013.

And this relates to 2013 how?

no.

I'm guessing the "Blackstone" has very little input in park operations. I'm sure they made some personnel moves and I'm sure they've instituted budget guidelines that may trickle down to even small changes made at the park. But the actual decision-making is probably still in the same management team that's been in place for years.

I'm sure management is given "bottom-line" guidelines from the corporate end that effects their decision making, but the thought that some Blackstone suits are micromanaging the theme parks is probably unrealistic.

That being said, if there were no major projects already planned for 2013 when Blackstone bought the park (new major ride, country expansion/re-theming, etc), I think 2013 will be a quiet year. After MT, the new coaster, and the Oktoberfest revamp, I'd think they'd want a breather for a year.

That looks like it has too slow of inversions, BGW should get a flying frisbee.

I rode it just last week. It is a hell of a lot of fun and you do 4-5 flips for every full rotation.

If that was in Germany, it could have some sort of WWI dog fight theme. I know they already have a kiddie plane ride themed after that, but still it would be kinda cool. If it was somewhere else, I'm not sure; maybe they could get custom shaped cars to incorporate a different theme.

^^ It could be in France and be themed to Amelia Earnhart's trip across the Atlantic Ocean to Paris. The ride could be called "The Gift of Flight" or something like that.

I think it would be cool to see a Huss King Kong ride. Instead of using King Kong lifting a trolley it could be a Lumberjack lifting an old train car. It could fit pretty well in New France behind Le Scoot. I'd post a pic but I have no idea how to.:(

I like your France idea.

Underneath where you write your posts, there should be a bar that reads "New Attachment: Choose File." Click the button there and you should be able to pick and attach photos from your computer.

The Huss King Kong rides seem somewhat boring to me. I watched a couple of videos on YouTube and all the ride seems to do is lean you sideways a little bit and shake you around just a little bit. If Busch did decide to get this ride they should make it more intense like more shaking and lean you out more. Huss usually seems to let me down, I went on one of their giant gondalas at Kings Island and all it does is flip you over like 2 times and then the ride is over. IMO, I think that the Air Race ride would be awesome and a flying frisbee that is even bigger than the one at Cedar Point or Kings Island would be good.

Or they can go Six Flags Great Adventure and get an Inverting Frisbee then remove it after two years because of so many people vomiting and ship it to another park in the chain... I'm joking of course. The Inverting Frisbee was removed because of bad staffing and horrible upkeep, Busch Gardens is much better in both of those departments.

EDIT:

And Chris, that looks pretty sweet. for some reason it reminds me of a starflyer.

It's a Gerstlauer Sky Roller, looks pretty awesome and more interactive than an Air Race.

OMG! Busch, Build this now! That thing is cool, that would be a great addition to the park's collection of flats. I have never seen a ride like that, it would fit BGW's reputation for uniqueness and innovation.
