RE: 2012 Coaster

This ride is not going to compare to the BBW, there is no way a ride above coaster can come close to comparing to a suspended coaster. It would be like comparing Apollo's Chariot to Alpengeist, they just don't compare, I think both are great but entirely different experiences. The only thing this coaster and the BBW will have in common is the location, some of the layout, and maybe some theming, we really don't know yet. I'm just tired of hearing "it's not the BBW." You know what, you're right it won't be the BBW, so lets wait and see what it is before we condemn it for not being the Big Bad Wolf.

Here are a couple of pics I took today. You can see the forms going up for the building foundation and in the one pic you can see what looks to be a couple of the complete footer for the supports.

RE: 2012 Coaster

I understand a lot of people have a really strong connection to the Big Bad Wolf. I, myself have a very strong connection to it. Though I would love for this to be a more modern version of the wolf, it is simply not going to happen. I think what a lot of people would like to see is some small tweaks to the theme to show some resemblance to the wolf. That is all that I was saying in my previous post!

RE: 2012 Coaster

^^I happen to like Apollo better than Alpengiest...:-/

And I believe you can compare a suspended coaster to a standard type. Its all in what you prefer. I have no bias either way, but I think Apollo is a little better. But I digress...

RE: 2012 Coaster

They will announce the new coaster on pass member appreciation weekend on September 17-18.

RE: 2012 Coaster

From the email they just sent out about HOS:

The website will feature regularly-scheduled "leaks" announcing details of the new elements along with a final surprise announcement planned just days before Howl-O-Scream's Sept. 23 opening.

its about time we've been waiting for this announcement since they removed BBW. may the BBW legacy live on in someway with this new ride. plus it makes sense to announce it on the 17th. let hype from the other parks die down the BG comes and steals the show. plus the haunted forest theme would fit in well with halloween since they'll be getting ready for HOS

RE: 2012 Coaster

There will be tomorrow. I would of gone today, but for some reason, they decided not to open the two Fridays before Howl-O-Scream.

RE: 2012 Coaster

This was posted on the BGW Facebook:

"Your site says your calling the new coaster "Blitzen-Volt" wow!

The statement I saw was "Don't make a wrong turn, you might have to face a storm that will leave you "Falling"" It is going to reech a speed of 81 mph and will ft an element like no other in the world!"

Typos are not mine.

Anyone see anything resembling this info anywhere? I sure as heck can't find it on the BGW site.

81 seems really fast, probably just trolling.

That was and is my reaction, but you never know. Only reason I shared was because they did let slip some stuff last year before the "big announcement" and something could've possibly been leaked that I wasn't seeing.

RE: 2012 Coaster

Throw in an overpriced lawyer, a sign telling guests to have their wills in order, and disclaimer saying this ride may cause death and the park would make a killing on this ride! [/joke]

They could also work out a licensing deal with Atari, and call it Rollercoaster Tycoon: The Ride, which IMO is > Verbolten. jk
