RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

This thread died, maybe we should get some pictures in to spring some life back into it...

People just shouldn't use these threads for planning BGW trips/meets. They should be using the Members Only section for that. In fact, I'm a little surprised there is no dedicated thread for trip planning.

Oh I shouldn't? Is that a norm, moray, law, or value? I'd really love to know. Additionally, it was mostly about me seeing if I could see anything about the 2012 attraction. Hmmm, I wonder what the thread title is.....Anyways, it wasn't me who killed the thread. Check the time dates ArrowWolf.

And hey. Create one.

I'm not pointing any fingers at anybody. And staying on topic in a thread really isn't a rule (for some forums it is) but really its common curtsey for forum users to stay on topic. Again nobody should be using the News page and threads regarding new attractions to plan or discuss their trip plans to BGW unless they are seriously on topic with the thread.

If somebody is saying they will be at the park next day or next week, etc. to take photos or something, that's fine if it's related to the topic. But people responding shouldn't be saying stuff like. "I'll be there next week." or "I'll be working there tomorrow." or "Let's meet here at (location) at (time)". If people want to talk about that stuff then start a new thread or discuss it personally among the people involved via PM's.

I'm not trying to be negative, I just want the posts in these threads to stay on topic.

So... This new coaster? Thoughts? Theming, track color, train designs, effects, elements, names, etc...

:dodgy: aight, i feel you. you should go create that meet up thread now though.

I REALLY don't want another yellow coaster. That's Nessie's thing. Don't take it away from her.

Carter, please delete the quotes within quotes you use. I know that has been stated prior.

Neither do I. No purple, no white, no blue. I'd like red like Wolf. Maybe green as long as it's not a bright primary green nor a lime green.

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

Off Topic:
I don't really know what that means....but my bad Scout. I'll remember from now on! And report button?! ArrowWolf and I resolved it within the forum (if it was even an "it"). It's allll goooddddd. No need for some scary scary strictness. I still don't think you get me yet Scout

On Topic:
More than anything I want this ride to be red, but I don't know if they'll do it. With the track using so many footers of the Wolf people may legitimately mistake it for BEING the Big Bad Wolf. "Hey what's the red ride?" Oh that? It's the Big Bad Wolf! I was just in a Farm Fresh at the beach having a conversation and like 5 people weren't totally sure that it was gone. If they went back and saw red track with the same drop, even with a bridge, they would most likely assume it's the same ride.

I doubt most people will confuse the Wolf for the 2012 coaster unless they're those people that only visit the park once every six years. Even the people who are not park enthusiasts but are locals that visit will probably see the difference.

I feel sorry for the people who don't frequently visit but love the park and are completely unaware of the changes and then visits and finds out the Wolf is gone. (That is if they had some emotional attachment to the Wolf like most of us.)

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

Hmmm....I dunno.....I think that would be pretty easy to confuse for the majority of people who visit Busch. But eh, who knows. It would be a nice homage.

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

Cheetah Hunt is a nice long ride, I think approaching 2 minutes. Thats a decent amount of time considering there is no lift hill to take up about half of that time. So its full of elements and speed the entire time.

I hope that Project 2012 isnt extremely short. The Big Bad Wolf was a short ride, and it had TWO lift hills. Just imagine how short this ride will (potentially) be with NO lift hills... I hope the elements inside the event building arent over in a flash...:-/

Thoughts?

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

I imagine that the train would sit on the drop section before exiting the building for a little bit so that adds a little time to the ride. I do admit that this does look like a short ride, but I don't think we will know how long the ride is untill opening day. Being that this does look short, I think we can expect a +-2 minute ride.

I hope you don't spend too much time in the building. I know there is a planed part of the coaster where the trains actually stop. I don't want this to be like a dark ride where you are slowly crawling down the track and looking at all of the animatronics and effects. I'm hoping for a speedy ride through the building with all of the crazy effects enhancing the experience and then you are outside whipping through the (real) forest and finally reaching the bridge and dropping over the Rhine.

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

Yea, just looking at the layout, it doesn't look extremely long.

Anyone notice the slab for the sfx building going down yet? It was tentatively scheduled to be started this past week.

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

well after looking at the layout of the inside of the building, it is noticeable that the spiral section has a very sharp embankment all the way through it. from the way the tracks are drawn it looks like you will be completely sideways at some point...

By the schedule that was released, the clearing and grading was to have started last week. When I was there Friday I didn't see where anything had been started. I think the delay on Mach Tower is causing a delay in starting the work on the new project. The actual slab for the sfx building doesn't get poured until the end of August. They have to grade and level the foundation, then have it "settle" for four weeks before the slab can be poured. All the footers for the track have to be poured too.

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

Just to give you guys a heads up, I finished a rct3 version of the 2012 project based on the leaked plans... I am currently making a video and should post it in a bit. It's not perfect (rct is horrible for making very realistic coasters) but you should get the idea.
