TT showed closed on queue times around 7:40 and then Dominator closed just before 8 PM. It was to be my last check before going out the door. Weather.com for Ashland showed 39 degrees as did Usair Richmond/Hanover but 45 in F-burg. The KD website showed 46 degrees for good while later and now is showing 43. So much for their site being a way to see the actual temperature.

Wind chill and a lack of riders probably did it as much as the actual temperatures, it was light crowds tonight which to me made it much more pleasant to walk around.

Did anyone else notice the Haunt (IronWorx I think) set pieces left in the middle of the path behind the Eiffel tower?

It's comical how they basically slapped some fake icicles and strung up some lights to make them fit.

Also, it'd be kind of cool if they expanded the Jewish decorations instead of a few hidden by the giant floral clock thing - maybe even bring in some music and food too?

However, I will say there were some unexpected touches of theming such as the signs on the maintenance building for Blue Ridge Tollway all fit into the Christmas/Holidays theme. That and I didn't notice until tonight that all the signage on I-Street except Panda Express and Cinnabon had been replaced with WinterFest signage. Pretty neat, especially for a park not known for immersive theming.

It’s supposed to be like that. You take your picture and flip it over to make it look like you’re falling out of the sleigh.

Said the same thing to my wife as we stood there taking a picture of our kids in the sleigh.

Yep, showed up at the queue for Twisted Timbers as they were turning away people. Bummed that I waited too long to get in line, but had to keep the fam happy before my oldest son and I go on coasters without the rest of our family. It felt below 40 degrees, but my car said it was 43 in the parking lot when we left around 830-ish.

queue times was showing at least a 20 minute wait just prior to closing, which I wouldn't call a lack -- actually that's probably why it showed closed first.

Were those accurate or on a default setting? Walking by, it looked like pretty close to a walk-on for both TT and Dominator though to be fair I wasn't there in time for either.

That's one of my favorite touches, too. In fact, they've changed the name for every non-chain restaurant throughout the park to fit the Winterfest theme. Pretty cool!

I guess it’s to actively discourage your drinking of coke. The bottle just slides out the bottom of the cover and onto the ground.

I have no idea whats going on and at this point, im too afraid to ask.
KD is running a Ugly Sweater promotion Friday where if you wear a ugly sweater to the park you get in for $19.00. Also for the first 3000 people they are handing out Coke bottle coozies made of sweater material to go along with ugly sweater day. But the admins decided to attack the post just because it wasnt something they like or thought useful.
