It is not due to Temps directly. The park has been open in the teens and single digits before during CT. It is however due to the snow and the level of Ice that will come as the snow melts some and then refreezes. This makes it hard to clear the park. In addition, part of the consideration is employee safety. It will be difficult for enough employees to open to safely get to work, so it isn't worth risking making them attempt to come in.
Also I am sure cost benefits assessment. It one thing to open during the snow during Christmas Town when you can expect a few thousand it's another all together to open in the snow for an event that has been pulling in only 700-1,800 in nicer weather.

Yes, but the park will also not open for CT if it has snowed. It really does have a lot to do with employee and guest safety. If they think that weather conditions are serious enough that most employees can't make it to work, then they won't open.

Looking from a different point of view, if it is that difficult for employees to come then it is also going to be difficult for guests to come too. So it makes even less sense to try and force TMs to come to work.

Yes but they have been able to safely open with snow on the ground for Christmas Town but it may just not be worth the effort for Sunday.

That decision comes down to whether they can clear the pathways on Saturday post snow storm or not. If they can't get their weather clean up team in early enough tomorrow to start clearing then they can't open.

This is your morning weather report. There is currently maybe an inch and a half of snow on the ground with it lightly coming down. Roads are fairly well cleared and passable at least from west of the park.

It helps when they actually treat the roads ahead of time.
I mean it helps when it's warmer then forecast to. I was just by the park and see little reason that they couldn't open tomorrow as it is warm enough that most of the snow on asphalt surfaces has melted.

Just curious. If you bought one of the refillable hot chocolate cups during CT, can you use it during Winter Weekends?

How much snow is still on the ground in Williamsburg, if any? Thinking of heading down to the park today but not too interested if it's mostly melted away by now.

The CW webcams are still showing a fair bit of snow on grassy areas.

It didn't warm up nicely -- the forecast changed 3-4 degrees south and no coasters ran. And the forecast indicated no problem. It was fairly comfortable in the sun.

Entering the park, you get a piece of paper saying some rides may not run below 42 degrees. Talking to a guy at Verbolten, the other day when a guest pulled out their phone and it said 40 degrees, the thermometer on the bridge that they go by said 36. So, they go by a measure you have no access to.
Going simply by today, 42+ 4 difference of thermometer + 4 change of weather = 50 degrees. I would recommend not going unless the forecast is at least 52. That's not a good situation in January.

I got one ride on Mach but when I tried later there were more people and all seats avail. had puddles in them. Bumper cars need more voltage. The animal show and Deloreans were decent, but I don't drive a 3 hour tour for that stuff. Skyride was the best thing open. Need a main attraction.
