I’m surprised they chose to open Apollo’s Chariot with this map. It’s well out of the way and would have been better to open something more centralized.
They are probably doing maintenance on most of the other rides. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a march-april shutdown of AC due to Pantheon opening

The Winter Weekends event overview is up now!

Anyone notice anything different?
there is an asterisk next the three bands playing. bottom of page has * means nominal fee. hope its a misprint. what would a nominal fee be? how could they charge everyone going into Das Festhaus if all they want is to get something to eat or just warm up if it is cold?

I would have to seriously doubt that they have staff to open all those dining locations.

Wish they had that kind of lineup at any point the past 2 months while i still had my all season dining and the park was packed.
It helps that Marco Polo is not open. That's a location that takes a massive amount of staffing to run it. Just by closing that they can easily a few locations. Also they are closing England Candy which is another location that takes more people than realized to staff it. Closing those two locations gives them the staff to open more.

I believe that is directed towards the bird houses and Frosty meet and greet also know as photo sell.

I only see an asterisk next to Dine with Animals. Which is a paid event. Other than that there aren't any asterisks

So no M sweets store for winter weekends? Seems weird to have no candy store open.

/\ It even had a note posted on the door saying starbucks was served at M sweets. It will still be strange without a candy shop.

I've never attended Winter Weekends and am contemplating checking it out tomorrow but have some concerns with the weather.

1) With the high for Williamsburg currently at 40, what are the chances the two coasters will operate? While I've heard many state over the years that the minimum operating temperature is 40, I wasn't sure if there was a higher starting temperature that has to be reached in order for them to warm up and run at their minimum operating temperature.

2) If the roller coasters and other attractions aren't operating, will a visit to the event still be worth it for a few hours? I've been to CT numerous times where the rides were down for weather, but with the additional shows and experience, the park still feels like it warrants a few hours. As someone who hasn't attended this event, I'm not sure if it will be worth it to visit only to walk around the park in the cold with the majority of the attractions shuttered or closed due to weather.

If you like animals or have small kids then yes, otherwise maybe wait for a warmer day.

Just curious if you get back that way. Have they come out with the new stein club membership, yet?

Yes they have. Or at least online they have. Was not back there to confirm in person.

I really can't believe I am going to say this but honestly if the event is anything like what I saw today then this isn't just a fail but a big fail for tge park. I say that as someone who both knew the rides wouldn't be open today and went multiple times last year. None of the non SEA animals were there this year and the three non SEA groups I saw consisted of the local Humane Society, William and Mary's Maritime Studies Institute, and a group that appeared to be about pet birds. I loved the zoological part of this event last year but that seems to largely be gone and it just feels like a really empty event this year. I will be back tomorrow to try and catch the annimal ambassador show and see what else tge event has to offer in fairer weather but right now this event is a major let down in my book.

I saw a post the Mach tower was actually open today, as well as the San marco bridge?

I can confirm that Mach Tower was up and running I believe that the bridge was open but actually didn't explore that far into Germany so can't be sure.
