From what I’ve been told, don’t expect the water features to be back on anytime soon. The air pressure at WWC is shared with other rides and there’s not enough pressure to go around when the geysers are on.
Are they still using the old hypersonic XLC system for air pressure across the park? Maybe they should invest in more capacity, if that’s the issue

Here's my problem. Everything had enough pressure when it was built. What else has been added to the area since to cause that much of a problem? The water cannons for the log flume are seriously the ONLY real addition to that area requiring air pressure since WWC opened. They can't use that much! (But I suggest their removal, just in case! Or just because. )

I am not sure that they mean air pressure. I heard that there was an issue with the water pumps that was waiting on a part. Supporting this theory is the the log flume was down earlier this week as well.

The pumps were the reason the ride was down. I'm not sure the correlation between Flume and Canyon as they use different pumps and reservoirs. Unless they wanted to replace the same part in both to be safe. The geysers issue are unrelated to the pumps. A lot of rides use air pressure for their pneumatic gates. I think that was the concern with losing air pressure. The good news is that the geysers work at least. This was not the case for the last 5 years. The crew just are not supposed to turn them on right now.

WWC is still closed, but the pumps are running. Given that this is the last week of weekday operation, I am wondering if the ride will reopen this season.

From my understanding they had a significant equipment failure that required rebuild on some equipment and replacement of others. assuming that they got the parts in and replaced them they likely would be running the equipment even if it doesn't open this season to insure it's actually fixed and good. But my guess would be that if it passes all mechanical checks that it will reopen.

If it’s true that WWC required a significant rebuild, good on KD for putting in the money and resources to bring it back online. In a time when many theme parks (even other former CF parks) are shuttering their rapids rides, it’s nice to see KD investing in theirs.

I remember reading that years ago, KD’s then-GM Gary Chadwick told ACE that he viewed Shenandoah Lumber Co. as a staple of the park and vowed to fight corporate if they ever moved to remove it.

Two GMs later, I hope that attitude still exists with the park’s leadership. It is reassuring to know that Bridgette Bywater does seem to have a reverence for the park’s history, though, based on her comments in various interviews.

I can confirm that it was indeed a pump (pump #2 i believe) that had to be replaced. I noticed on my ride last night that they had two area Supervisors/High ups running the ride as over half the crew left for school already. They want to keep it up and running as long as they can so they are pulling anyone and everyone who is certified at the ride to run it.

I love Shenandoah Lumber Co, but White Water Canyon gets me way too soaked. Once was enough of that. But I'm glad those who like to get soaked in street clothing will get to ride it still and I hope it sticks around in spite of my take on it. It's a classic ride. If it was in the water park I'd ride it a lot, though.
